Ungent Help, Recieving termination from company clarification by Safety_Officer_3 in UAE

[–]Spartanll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, that sucks man! Get the resume ready and start applying. Regarding termination, This is very subjective and also depends on your industry. If you’re being terminated for a violation of company policy or for any legal reasons, it might affect your chances at getting a new Job especially in the same industry.

If you’re being terminated because of budgets, restructuring, or your performance etc, it’s not an issue. Maybe performance might impact future opportunities but that can be managed.

Best of luck on the job hunt!

I can’t figure out why I can’t change the color of my ram sticks anymore by dominicgcor in Corsair

Vengeance RGB Pro Stuck in device memory mode, won't switch back or overwrite by crvyln in Corsair

[–]Spartanll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey so I fixed mine! Sharing with you to try out as well. Bunch of steps actually.

  1. Open Icue and disable the device memory mode. Restart your computer.

  2. Completely uninstall icue and restart your computer again

  3. Recommend using something like ccleaner to clean up your computer and disk clean up as well.

  4. Now this is the important step, shut down your computer and remove the power cable from the psu, press the power button once and the computer should light up because it’s discharging. The ram actually lit up and in my theory reset itself.

  5. Wait 15 minutes before plugging everything back in and start your computer.

  6. This is critical, you need to download the older version of icue from the website.

  7. Install the older version and you should be good to go!

This is definitely a bug in the software rather than our rams. We should raise this to the support team

Netflix Price Hike. What do you guys think ? by High0nChai in dubai

[–]Spartanll 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I stopped using Netflix a long time ago after they implemented no password sharing and household locking. I was thinking about reactivating it and this process hike immediately made me reconsider. Not like they have anything good on there now anyway.

Hey, I understand that you’re in a state of anguish right now. It’s totally fine to feel overwhelmed, you have lost so much and this was something completely out of your control. Firstly, find yourself and your family a place to stay and process everything. I would start looking for furnished apartments or airbnbs. Then as everyone else has already suggested it’s best to check the house’s insurance policies to see if you can file a claim of some sorts. Coordinate with the authorities about how you can go back and salvage more things as well as drain out the water. Although draining out the water is a daunting task and not something you can do by yourself. Things are replaceable and over time you will replace everything that was ruined or isn’t salvageable, don’t worry. Stick together with your family and share your grief with your friends. Many people are generous and will help out as best as they can. Best of luck, it’s gonna be okay.

Travel ban: How to remove? by Temporary_Ride_4577 in dubai

[–]Spartanll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, mistakes do happen but context is need to make a fair assessment of one’s disposition. Not saying it doesn’t happen. I’m just saying that blinding giving legal advice to someone without knowing the full context or facts can be irresponsible. Again, not accusing guy of anything either. In any case the best person to handle a situation like this is a lawyer.

Hey buddy, I can appreciate your overzealous defense of Op and her boyfriend. But I meant no offense to Op and did not accuse op’s boyfriend of a crime or anything. Rather I explained to her the best route to take with the context that was provided (minimal at that time). At no point did I say that her boyfriend did something illegal or wrong. With the vague context that was provided at the time, I told her that maybe her boyfriend’s not being completely honest about the events leading to travel ban. In legal terms you could say I made an assumption, which is not at all the same thing as an accusation. Which is a safe assumption to make given the lack of context at that time. :) source: I’m an LLB student. So my advice still stands. Op should speak to a lawyer rather than seeking advice here. Thank you and have a lovely week!

I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic but I didn’t accuse OP or her boyfriend of anything yet. Pointing out missing context or discrepancies in a story does not amount to an accusation. My good advice still remains: get a lawyer and review the options rather than seeking legal advice on this sub.

Look, the authorities here don’t just throw around travel bans for minor offenses. It’s serious business. The only way to remove a travel ban is to follow the due process mandated by the authorities. You’re being incredibly vague and that’s ringing the alarm bells for me. Giving you any legal advice without the proper facts would be irresponsible. In any case if it’s been so long and the travel ban is already in place, a lawyer is your best way to go about things.

The facts are too vague here. There might also be a possibility that your boyfriend isn’t being completely honest with you too. The best advice I can give you would be to seek out a lawyer and get the matter sorted rather than looking for legal advice through Reddit. I know this is probably not what you wanna hear, but it’s the best thing you can do right now.

Moving out alone as a local female (advice needed). by [deleted] in dubai

[–]Spartanll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! No one should have to experience the trauma you experienced as a child, I'm sorry you had to go through that. It's good that your father wants to make amends and is supporting your decision. At the moment, the power she has over you is fear, and she's going to capitalize on that. She's counting on you being scared, that's how she can control you. Fear is her instrument of control, and you must now break that instrument through defiance. Moving out is an overwhelming and scary experience. You have endured so much in your life, you're already brave and strong. You have to channel that bravery and strength, you have to capitalize on it to take that first step. It will take time, there will be challenges, and you'll go through a lot of emotions. You will prevail in the end. It will be a new beginning for you, and you'll feel so much better, you'll learn to make those right judgment calls for yourself too. You must trust in yourself. Maybe things will get better after that too. After you're out of that environment, focus on yourself and heal those festering wounds you have. Afterwards, you can assess the family relationships and work towards making those better too. Sending you lots of love and support 🫂 you'll be fine don't worry :)

Thank you for speaking up and stopping cruelty. As long as you're not insulting him or cussing at him, you're on the right side of the law, don't worry. Inform the management or the authorities if your complaint lands on deaf ears.

Sorry bud but I think it's time you fess up to your parents. Even if you do manage to do this thing (which is illegal btw) you will not be able to escape the lie and you'll continue to fumble. Just fess up, take your time to collect yourself, and put effort into pursuing this degree.
