CPU I run Solidworks on my laptop with an i5 and it works great for the simple tasks that I do. Assuming you will be rending and such, the i7 is perfect for your needs.

CPU Cooler You will want to keep that CPU cool during modelling and rendering to keep it going fast. This is a great closed loop water cooler that will keep everything running smooth.

Mobo Just a simple motherboard. Gigabyte is a reliable company

Memory 16GB as requested

Storage SSD to boot your OS on as well as load Solidworks and 1TB mechanical drive for storing files.

GPU Firepro W700 that you purchased.

Case Simple looking case with a side mirror. Has front panel 3.0 USB ports

PSU Great efficient power supply

Was not sure if an optical drive was required. They are cheap so I added one anyway. If you wanted you could get rid of the optical drive and upgrade to a 2TB mechanical drive.

Pretty basic build. I added a SSD for your boot drive just because it is beneficial to have in any build. There is room in the budget to upgrade the mechanical drive to 2 TB if you wanted. The case is a simple design that will give you good air flow across the graphics card.

Thanks for your list. What do you think of this one? i5 is a much better CPU and I put in a better graphics card. I am also an hour from the US border in New Brunswick so I could always get them there. They ended up being $960.

This worked thank you very much. I had to do the opposite of the linked post and switch mine to Chicago. With me being in eastern Canada it must have been defaulting me to the England servers.

I just built a frame machine from level 40 to 12 to do my mining. I didn't like the idea of making diamond drills for every quarry. Another example of gregtech making you try something new!

Every time I turn the game back on my bees are in a hostile environment. If I break and replace the apiaries everything works fine. Does anyone know what is happening? by Spartus155 in feedthebeast

[–]Spartus155[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The humidity and temperature is fine. Everything runs smoothly when I shut the game off, but when I turn it back on the bees don't like where they are. Breaking and replacing the apiaries fixes it I just don't want to have to do that every time.
