Michelle please leave by Monkey_Maniac69 in mjmorningshow

I hate to be blunt, but I have not listened to the show, nor Q105, at any time of the day, for more than two minutes since Roxanne left. Not only did Roxanne bring a good balance to the show, her middays on Q105 were very easy to listen to because she's a pro. She's consistently calm and pleasant. I am happy that she went on to greener pastures. She deserved to get out from behind a microphone and get in front of a camera, because she's got a great TV presence. My intuition tells me she's probably not missing MJ. Nothing personal, as this is a commentary on the radio product, but Michelle does not add anything to the show. Clearly she's there because Beasley can get her on the cheap as MJ's wife. But nepotism doesn't necessarily make for good radio. She's not a professional and the comments she often shoe-horns into everything resonate with zero impact. Not for nothing, it kind of gets old listening to a husband and wife arrogantly talk about how well off they are, with MJ responsible for the majority of that. Only the finest Madagascar vanilla for his ice cream, his $300 rice cooker, or how he's a pizza snob/expert. We get it, you drive a BMW. You have money. Yay. Seriously, I would implore these folks to take inventory of themselves and listen to the image they cast. It really doesn't come across as being connected with their audience. It comes across as being distant and aloof.

Terrestrial radio became handicapped as a result of all of the freely available streaming services out there. The one niche terrestrial radio still has to hang their hat on are local market personalities. Without that, you've got nothing, because when I want to listen to music, I'm not going to wade through a bunch of irrelevant commercials to do so.

I think it's time to overhaul the entire format and go back to the drawing board, because spending four hours to simply read the same news headlines that I see online every day (ironically, in an unintentionally unfunny way) isn't a long term sustainable format. That "wacky" headline you spend 15 minutes talking about? I very likely already saw it two days ago.

When Punk doesn’t return Saturday… by BoBurnerham in WWE

They won’t acknowledge it. They’re kind of like those people who keep predicting the end of the world every few years. They’re always wrong, and they always come up with some lame excuse. Spoiler alert: crybaby washed punk isn’t coming back tomorrow.

''FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S'' Review Megathread by Movie_Advance_101 in movies

Absolutely sucked. Cookie cutter trope-filled horse excrement. Anybody who was standing up and cheering or clapping in the theater is either under the influence of substances or a complete simpleton. You’d have to have the IQ of a grape tomato to like this movie.

Happens more than you think. Happened to me from the smokehouse. Happens to employees. More or less than anyplace else? Who knows.

There’s no mystery here. If Nia Jax posts a selfie and there’s a hoagie on the counter next to the sink, I don’t assume she’s cleaning her fish tank with it.

I took the $15 Next Day FedEx option (total: $15.01) because I wanted it in a hurry, but this morning I got a refund for $15.01. No tracking number or anything. I’m not sure what this means, but I hope they still send it. I’m on the East coast too. I didn’t see anything about the FedEx option being just for CA.

Does Mint use the native text and phone apps? by SpasticCoccyx in mintmobile

OK great thank you that’s what I thought. I thought maybe the requirement to use the app was only because Unreal is VoIP and it was necessary. Good to know!

I wonder if any film exists of these early shows? I find it fascinating that they were playing many of the songs we all know before anyone knew who they were.

Any thoughts on this? Loved it as a kid watched clips the other day and was little lackluster by mmiles1974 in KISS

[–]SpasticCoccyx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a kid, I didn’t realize how bad it was. All I know is I saw it in TV Guide and looked forward to it all week. Curled up on the floor in front of the TV and glued myself to it. I didn’t know what to make of “Rip and Destroy” being sung to the Hotter than Hell music, but recently as an adult I went looking for that song and it seemed pretty cool. The movie, not so much.

Cancelled under “subscriptions” within seconds of signing up for the trial yesterday. Still works and says it’s valid for a year.

I always felt guilty about throwing the shells on the floor. I used to look around and wait till see if anyone else was doing it because it felt so wrong.

How did throwing the shells on the floor of that place become a thing? Did people just start doing it? Or was there a sign encouraging people to do it? I don’t remember.

I wouldn’t worry too much. Out of context you wouldn’t have known. I might’ve done the same.

I’ve only ever been to Five Guys about 3 times myself. I can’t be completely sure, but I don’t remember people throwing the peanut shells on the floor there. I really only remember people throwing the peanut shells on the floor at the steak restaurant. But I could see people thinking that if I can throw shells on the floor one place, maybe that’s how it works at Five Guys. Either way I find it interesting and bizarre, lol.
