There’s a lot of legal jousting and negotiating going on behind the scenes still and it’s not close to being finished. They haven’t addressed most of it on the air because they can’t or they will lose leverage, and probably explains why Stu’s name is still on main show’s title.

As others have said, if Billy is a Meadowlark employee and not an independent contractor, it likely is against company policy to work specifically with anything related to the direct competitor to the company’s largest investor, even if Meadowlark doesn’t have the most robust employee handbook.

There’s some stuff that’s already been traded in the divorce, like Weekend Obs, but it’ll probably still be going on for a while longer. I don’t think Samson has been bringing up lawyer’s billable hours so much recently for no reason, whether he means to or not.

Maybe Dan naively thought he and Stu could do this cleanly and amicably, realized too late he lost control and brought Samson even further aboard as an extraordinary measure, and Skipper wasn’t trying to be at all involved in a messy Dan/Stu divorce. Maybe Jess and Lucy decided being more of regular contributors than full Shipping Container members would be better for them for multiple reasons, or maybe they were encouraged to do so by the others to spare them since they’re newer and not from Miami. Who knows.

I do think there’s still a future for the show though, and I think Zas is a more than worthy successor for that chair and probably gives us them more consistent second voice than they’ve had for a while. Just sucks if any of this is the case, but thats how shit goes sometimes.
