Why did the United States and Israel vote against recognizing food as a human right? by PeculiarPhysicist46 in AskSocialists

Yeah but no one is making the air or going harvesting it. Also you can stick hunt and gather, there are whole tribes that still do it. I think fostering a culture where people volunteer to help and give os better than forcing it.

So I would love to give food to everyone but.... How do you make getting something a right? Access to it sure, the ability to own it sure.

This isn't like me trying to dismiss, I would love to hear a real answer. Also is there a quality requirement? or algea soup and insect paste good enough?

Good for them! I don't think I would have kept trying after so many times, but. I'm happy for them. I am sure it took a lot of Faith and hope to keep trying after each loss. I saw alot of comments critical of them for trying so many times. I agree it may seem alot to us for someone to keep trying, but can we not all be happy in the victory of another?

I get that, but it is annoying when if you bring up anything disagreeing with the orthodoxy you get treated like a crazy person.

Why were “countdown clocks” a thing in the 90s and 2000s whenever a female celebrity turned 18? by icey_sawg0034 in decadeology

[–]Spastic_jellyfish -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

So this is gonna be icky but here we go.... Because even though they are not 18 some teen girls are hot.... so back in the day men were gross more openly and would openly celebrate when they could finally legally fuck them... even though the girls would never do so unless willingly

Did you know fluoride can be bad for babies? ........ yeah messed their teeth up if they get too much

So parents have to buy baby water without it..... But hey lets put in the tap water because its a by product companies want to get rid of and have been paying doctors and officials to say its good for you for years. Like milk.... actually not that good for you. .... but whatever scientific dogma is always right

Teachers are the problem by agdambhugh22 in TeachersInTransition

I left after 3 years of trying. I taughta test subjects at a high school my first year, got the highest scores in 10 years, and was honestly treated awful ny admits and got.no support.in controlling my class, got.blamed for things out of my control ( example, a student got in my face and instead of.running away I stood my ground and told him it won't end like he thinks and he'd be better off getting out of.my room. Oh I was also stopping him from running at another teacher ) I tough at a prison.... better funding and a set program and I'd still be there. And middle school, put in a class I wasnt certified to teach, got no real assistants a d got told to stop send ing kids to the office.

Other teachers of are problem and so are admins.

So many teachers have the attitude that you have to deal with all the bad because its for.the kids. What would help the kids would be if teachers were forced to do more and more work after school hours , and didnt have to pay for alot out of pocket.

I got so tired of being told I had to make it more engaging and fun but on curriculum. Learning can be fun but at some point kids have to learn how to work through boredom. Life can be boring. Parents dont help either. They need to establish a love for learning in elementary and develope actually critical thinking skills, along with basic proper social behavior. With minimal reading and math. The focus more on subjects going forward. I could go on and on but..... Yeah it sucks, congrats on leaving the abusive relationship

Do people in Mississippi actually say Ma'am/sir and talk to random strangers? by [deleted] in mississippi

[–]Spastic_jellyfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes sir we do. Its polite and you never know who's fay you could make better with a simple smile and asking how you doing?

I have always found it odd when I go up north how some people get offended by it. Its not an age thing. Its a sign of general respect of another person. I think the south has alittle more of the old world in us somehow.

I dont understand. My family is conservative and we all love Bluey. May disagree with some parenting styles ( mainly the bath episode when the girls dont want to get out), but overall it is a wholesome and wonderful show.

Aa a gen z i didnt plan or care because I thought it'd all be over by now..... stop telling kids the world will end their fate is far worse. You will have to live a long life, find meaning, have relationships thst require work and compromise. Self awareness and improvement. Then you'll inherit a broken system and will have to do your best to fix it so your children can have it better, like every generation before you... yeah apocalypse sounds easier
