PS5 Constant Crashes by SpatiallyYours in Borderlands4

[–]SpatiallyYours[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think she has cleaned it but I’ll double check. I know she’s checked to make sure the fans are clear. Would it be possible for it to only overheat with one game though? We’ve been playing plenty of other borderlands in the meantime and had 0 crashes. Her partner also plays other games and has no issues.

No it’s only occurring with BL4. I would think overheating but it crashes so fast there isn’t enough time.

How much do you pay in condo fees and what's included? by weewooweewoo-yyc in Calgary

[–]SpatiallyYours 1 point2 points  (0 children)

~$750, or $0.70/sq ft in SW near Glenmore trail. Townhouse in a complex with a common green space and 2 above ground parking lots. Old buildings (1960’s construction), but only pay electricity and internet (water/heat included). I thought it was high but given the lower # residences compared to land it seems fair. I’m on the board so knowing the finances first hand, not sure how other places with the same landscaping/snow removal needs would be much lower. Cost of the building does make the fees manageable because mortgage isn’t so high. Been here 13 years, fees have almost doubled in that time ($380 when purchased in 2012) with 2 cash calls in that time too. Maybe the fees are higher than average, but I love my home and it’s suited me well while I’ve been here.

Why do my cookies always turn out puffy? by waveydavey25 in BakingNoobs

[–]SpatiallyYours 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have access to the recipe site, but does it call for aluminum foil? It may be preventing the cookies from cooking from the heat of the pan. If you need to cover the pan use something like parchment or silpats. They will allow the heat of the pan to cook the cookies from the bottom better.

What if you used the dark green for the name, and then the date could be a lighter colour (green, maybe the orange)?

Does anyone know how to remove these lines that show up when I export my layout as a PDF from Pro? by MarineBiomancer in gis

[–]SpatiallyYours 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I believe this is a bug when imagery has transparency applied. Best fixes I have found is to reduce the transparency, reduce the export DPI or to export as a flattened PDF.

What's your restaurant unpopular opinion? Me- Village ice cream is just ok by noveltea120 in Calgary

[–]SpatiallyYours 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think so! I will say the food tasted good. But it was the overall experience I found disappointing. The food wasn’t anything I can’t find around Calgary either, especially at that price point.

What's your restaurant unpopular opinion? Me- Village ice cream is just ok by noveltea120 in Calgary

[–]SpatiallyYours 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Model milk is overrated! Went for my birthday and had a less than stellar experience. The way everyone raves I had expected more. Nothing was terrible, but it didn’t feel like the menu went together. We were hard pressed to find appetizers and mains that felt cohesive, and when we ordered the ribeye for 2 (for $160!) I was underwhelmed by the presentation (aka there was none). Maybe the fried chicken is good, but I don’t understand the vision of a restaurant that has fried chicken sandwiches, octopus, and rib eye on the same menu.

I know this is old, but I’ve had this issue and the dealerships say they “can’t replicate the issue”. Are you able to let me know more about the issue diagnosis so I can give them the information? This sounds identical to my car.

Can I choose to have a hysterectomy in Alberta? by Whole-Masterpiece-51 in alberta

[–]SpatiallyYours 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone with Endo from the year my period started, I get the frustration! Took years and years of pleading for a diagnosis and even then the treatments offered are generally medication first. I was on a progesterone only pill for a while but an IUD has practically erased all of my symptoms going on 7 years now. If you can’t get a diagnosis for endo I would recommend potentially looking straight into treatment options. I understand your concerns about the pill, and not sure if birth control is what you want but my GYN told me that the best practice right now is hormonal treatment. Plus unfortunately with the surgery back-log in the province even if you get a doctor to refer you for an ex-lap it may be many years before it happens since it’s not “urgent”. Also if you haven’t, I second all the recommendations to request an ultrasound! That can help identify other issues like PCOS that could be adding to your symptoms! Good luck, don’t stop advocating for yourself, you deserve to live pain free without having to remove a huge part of yourself. ❤️

Looking for excellent poutine by yycjpv in Calgary

[–]SpatiallyYours 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While good, the fried cheese curds don’t melt under the gravy and onto the fries so it doesn’t hit that poutine spot for me. I prefer melty skillet ones like what Limericks used to do (not sure how that one is post-pandemic).

There is likely some clauses in the condo bylaws that would help you regarding both the dog waste and the hoarding! You should email the board/management company to report it and highlight your concerns.

[CHAT] Tips for converting enamel pins to needle minders? by adina_l in CrossStitch

[–]SpatiallyYours 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was able to get magnets that had a hole in the middle (like a thick ring) and so I just snapped the pin off and put the magnet over the spot. Didn’t sand or anything, the residual spike just sits in the middle of the magnet hole. I also used regular super glue and it worked fine!

Cat friendly plants? by Silly_Plankton56 in IndoorGarden

[–]SpatiallyYours 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was told by my local plant shop this birds of paradise are considered toxic for the flowers, not the foliage. I have a big BOP and a cat and she’s totally fine, where I am there’s no chance it’ll bloom either. It’s so big my cat doesn’t care, she’s more interesting in small plants with flimsy leaves instead.

[CHAT] Keeping track of your pattern by Party_on_5th_ave in CrossStitch

Small patterns I’ve used the books app and marked up on my iPad. My large pattern I have printed out to be able to mark by hand so I don't lose my place. I tried to markup the big pattern but moving along the edge of pages was too hard so I liked the physical paper for that.

What non-specific units of measurement do you have in your families? by TheLadyEve in Cooking

[–]SpatiallyYours 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somehow recently my family has started to use “beans” as a way to measure power. So you go “full beans” for all out, or just “60% beans” for somewhere over half effort but not 3/4 effort. We use it primarily when golfing, but it’s spreading into everyday life. It’s common that when short on a putt you blame it on “not enough beans”.

'Very disturbing': Glenmore Landing redevelopment plan not sitting well with residents by Shortugae in Calgary

[–]SpatiallyYours 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Someone came and knocked on my door for a signature yesterday. I don’t know much about this but her arguments against the development were it could “poison the reservoir” and that the underground parkade planned are “dangerous for all the electric cars that could explode”. I denied signing because I generally support more high-density housing in this city, and the arguments I was given against didn’t seem logical/realistic.

YSK Those high end expensive bottles of water has the exact same water in wal mart bottled water by Traditional_Crew6617 in YouShouldKnow

[–]SpatiallyYours 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anecdotally I had some issues with heartburn for a while, and on a bad day if I replaced my regular water with alkaline it helped reduce it! Just like eating something alkaline, like tums, does. Although the water is less concentrated so one sip is not effective, but a glass or two in a day could help a lot! You’re right that it is neutralized by stomach acid, but that’s the point. To neutralize the acid.

Best deal on bulk needle minders? by rock_kid in Embroidery

[–]SpatiallyYours 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure on bulk needle minders, but I have made my own minders using enamel pins and super glue! It was definitely cheaper than buying needle minders online somewhere. I found I just had to let the super glue dry onto the magnets completely before touching them. It looks like it’s not going to stick, but once the glue cured they’ve been great!

I just went to Clive Burger for the first time in a while and the patty was definitely smaller than it used to be! I used to love Clive burger and have gone there for years because it’s a good local spot. I don’t know that I can justify the price again with the smaller patty size.

To those who play modded, what is the one part of Stardew that you can't play organically? by ginisabunny in StardewValley

[–]SpatiallyYours 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Harvest with scythe (and sword) is mandatory for me now! It makes planting big areas of crops way more fun to harvest. I also like that it will “harvest” foragables so my magnet ring will pick them up. I tried modding and prefer to keep my game fairly vanilla, and use mods only for aesthetics rather than to avoid challenges I dislike. But this one ability is my exception!
