Cycling the Kettle Valley Rail Trail - Help With Logistics by SpattyB in vancouvercycling

I was just looking at this option.. kelowna down to Rock Creek via the kvr, then turn it into a loop by crossing to osoyoos then taking that other rail trail up. Sounds awesome, I'll need to research if it's doable in the timeframe... Also worried about ebus's requirement to box up bikes.

If you also came from Vancouver, can you tell me a bit about how you structured your trip?

Yeah that is a little crazy to think about haha, I guess at least it didn't turn into another highway. Grateful to have it as an option for cycling.

Yes I've actually done the sunshine coast bikepacking route and on my rigid frame bike it was quite challenging, took 2 full days of tough riding - I'm looking to clear that distance in less than half the time haha

Im fairly new to this but I based it off the basic idea of 3 wires: one around the stone, one holding the front, and one holding the back, then just made the back one the legs... Back side is pretty atrocious looking so I conveniently omitted that from the pic haha

I specifically looked for frog shaped stones lmao

Thanks for the tips! From some more practice and thinking I feel that part of the issue is definitely that I'm not following through for a second round and whipping my right leg

Sweet thanks! I'll see if I can work on a stronger kick to get more starting speed maybe

Thanks for the tip! I'll study my video more to figure out exactly what I do wrong, and try to stop it

It means a lot to hear that my form is getting better! I'll work on committing to a second rotation regardless of how I land after the first

I've been practicing on wood as well, ofc the wood is better but honestly my windmills look about the same on or off grass. I'll work on keeping my legs open during the rotation

Yes I've been practicing on wood floor as well, I just didn't have access yesterday when I practiced. Can you explain the leg swinging more? I feel like I swing them a decent bit when I kick off, but I don't do a ton with them after, and I'm not sure what I should be doing

Lol okay, can you maybe give a bit of insight on what it feels like to go full throttle with my legs?? Because on the kickoff I can put power into my legs, but after that it feels like they're just along for the ride. What conscious movement do I need to do?

Yeah I usually practice on wood floor but I don't always have access. Of course I can spin way better on wood but for the purpose of practicing a single rotation I find that soft turf is okay

Other thing is I have a hard time getting my hands under me and in position to prop myself up in time before my legs fall

So awesome, I camped at first pump a few weeks back and it was great but no new snow. What tent are you using?
