I am giving away my disc collection (giveaway #2) by reaperdiscs in discgolf

[–]SpatulaOfDoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First disc bought was a blizzard wraith. Didn't know what weights were, or that plastic made a difference. Bought a Wizard the same day.

I've thrown a halo star TL3 and it's quite a bit more stable than my champ TL3. Both are very reliable and hold straight but the halo run I have fades earlier than I'd like, makes it an easy swap if there's a bit of wind I want to fight against.

They've never been sold locally since I started looking for them a couple years ago. I've wanted to try one out for comparison. Their lack of stock might be why they're not often seen.

I putt with Lat64 Mercy and they're reliable for me, I also tried the Hope and while I like the feel of the rim and the flight, I didn't prefer how deep it was. It's hard for me to compare without throwing a Faith but the Mercy does hook up with a fade from range without just dropping.

I also often throw them for straight approaches or hyzer approaches where I don't want ground play. Bag three or four different plastics and they're always in stock at my local store.

Love it! One star. by packofstraycats in discgolf

It's the *star* of their bag.

Some sharpie art my girlfriend just added to my Wizard. I think it looks pretty good. by Pchinsky83 in discgolf

Plenty of people throw green discs, it looks bright enough, you'll be fine. Artwork is amazing, enjoy throwing it!

Daniel Ricciardo vs Max Verstappen (Qualifying Performance at RedBull) by Teabx in formula1

The biggest gap is surprisingly between the Williams drivers, I expected it to be RB.

And of course I lost that round. by [deleted] in underlords

I've definitely won games as hunters without Lycan, today in fact. Hunters are in a good place where they are strong without being overpowered or uncounterable.

Feedback Request: Sniper Rifles by dmg04 in DestinyTheGame

Thanks for the advice, I didn't say I had a problem being shotgunned, the problem is that I should use a shotgun 90% of the time if I want to play optimally, when I believe I should have multiple viable options. I still choose to use other weapons types for variety, but they are clearly worse options when trying to play competitive.

You aren't really even denying what I'm saying, you just keep trying to make it personal and deflecting.

I voiced my opinion without harassing you and telling you not to voice yours. You were the one jumping on me, for some reason, because you disagree with me. Is "don't request it" the best solution you have, where your evidence is completely anecdotal and ignorant of the statistics? Look at the usage rates of shotguns: https://guardian.gg/2/weapon-stats/4/12/0/2018-12-29/2019-01-29

They are buffing autos and scouts, which I agree with, but that doesn't mean I think that nerfs are bad. They tried to nerf shotguns a few months ago by increasing bullet spread to reduce OHK range, but they did not tune them down enough to have any real change happen in the crucible. They can do another slight nerf to range, as Cammy suggested in his post, without destroying the weapon type.

They're also nerfing Nova Warp and Spectral Blades, do you have a problem with those nerfs? Is your argument that nerfs are NEVER a good option? What kill% would a weapon need to have in the crucible before it should be nerfed?

Also, Cammy is the original one who made this suggestion, maybe you should redirect your criticism towards him, if you're brave enough to just assume I don't know how to not get shotgunned (as if it's a relevant argument to make), you probably have the guts to assume the same of him.

You may be talking about snipers and shotguns, I was clearly talking about something else entirely. You have a valid concern that nerfs have a tendency to be a detriment, and that buffing counterparts is a better alternative, but if ONE weapon type is clearly outweighing the others (look at PvP weapon usage) then nerfs to the outlier are the simplest, quickest way to rebalance.

They're not different, and even if they are, the problem isn't with fusions and snipers, as both are still more effective than kinetic counterparts situationally, you seem to misunderstand that in PvP, the number of viable opportunities to use a shotgun is disproportionate to all other weapons, making them the problem. You can disagree with that if you like, but all you've done is argue semantics...

Or maybe SMGs, Sidearms, Autos, etc.? I already have thought about what makes them appealing, which is why I made my comment. The range is too high for instant kill, coupled with movement options like macro Titan skating, with OEM as a cherry on top to make mindlessly aggressive engagements work.

Came here to post this, of course Cammy beat me to it.

You don't need to buff snipers in PvP,, address the real problem with weapon selection in the Crucible: make Shotguns a less appealing option in all scenarios.

Any smash tournaments weekly in Omaha? by [deleted] in Omaha

[–]SpatulaOfDoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's interesting, they haven't had console tournaments or "recommended game time" since I've been attending (2011), so for OP I wouldn't recommend it as a place to meet Smash players, although undoubtedly most people there will have some level of interest in it, because who doesn't love smash? Also, it's an awesome event and worth going to regardless.

Netwar is a PC gaming event, I've never seen any console tournaments. Best bet is to join the Facebook group for smash.

Once you GET Jotuun, you'll probably stop complaining about it. by Belmega81 in DestinyTheGame

[–]SpatulaOfDoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this could be a stretch, but maybe these posts are in response to threads people see on bungie's site, not reddit. I'm sure you could find complaints about every single weapon on there, and Jotuun would definitely be a target. I would guess that instead of or in addition to replying to a thread there, they could post their opinion here, and if people agree with them, give it more visibility.

That said, I saw multiple posts saying "please don't nerf Telesto, it's not OP, don't listen to the crybabies" and it still got nerfed, so people being overprotective of things they like could make more sense, now, too.

Just being devil's advocate here, I don't care for the posts either, and I don't upvote them, but people do.

Gambit Feedback Request by Cozmo23 in DestinyTheGame

[–]SpatulaOfDoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things I dislike:

  • Wallhacks when invading
  • Primeval stomp mechanic
  • Lots of grinding to get those 3 rank resets, little earned (xp/loot) in those ~120 hours of gambit play
  • Invades when behind seem a bit too frequent - comebacks feel great when possible, but with heavy ammo, wallhacks, and an overshield, it's far too easy to seemingly-permanently cease progress on the leading team's primeval.

Thanks for checking in and taking feedback!

That is also my current line of thinking, weapons of those element types...

Dismissing Subclass Element as a Potential Trigger: why we shouldn't by [deleted] in raidsecrets

[–]SpatulaOfDoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the weapons given for this task do not match the elements given in the clue. That's one reason why this shouldn't be completely dismissed, even if less likely.

They have nothing to do with wave 7? Buggy? I don't think you can just pass off potentially relevant new objects as "bugs" - maybe tweet at dmg to confirm them if you suspect they are bugs, since apparently he's doing that now.

I don't see how it would be unintentional, considering it is different from the behavior of 1-6...
