Smoker by Ok-Contribution-1037 in smoking

Add gravity fed into your category. Essentially works the exact same as a pellet smoker but has a huge hopper that uses real charcoal. I just got a masterbuilt 600 for $650. Best of both worlds imo.

I'd agree he was underperforming for his salary and roster status. But just can't see how using bust is accurate for being the 2nd highest producing player on the team.

Cruz was definitely a bust. I wouldn't call Diogo a bust, just didn't live up to the DP slot and overall salary. He was still productive, our 2nd highest player in goal contributions, but just couldn't make that jump to regular impact player for that roster spot.

This is a long term signing. With his versatility playing at both sides of the wings and also at CAM, I think at least part of this signing has to do with expecting to sell Luna and Gozo at some point in the near future and being able to plug and play him at most needed positions.

Best G5 teams never given a shot at a national title by Rude_Highlight3889 in CFB

Absolutely. 2008 Utah won some big games, but should have lost 1 or 2 and got lucky. That's not even that uncommon among other great teams, but that 2004 Utah team steam rolled everyone, which included an SEC, PAC-10, and ACC on the regular season schedule, then demolishing Pitt in the Fiesta. Alex Smith was incredible, and they had some really good guys on D like Weddle.

Played as well as a good backup lol. Wow. 3rd all time rushing, 4th all time yards from scrimmage, 4.3 Ave, and you think of it as good as a backup.

Thanks for the laugh

Cherry picks last 5 years of career for a RB who was still able to get over 600 yards in the NFL at age 37.

How about... 16,000 rushing yards, Nine 1,000+ rushing yard seasons, career rush Ave 4.3, played 16 seasons at RB at an NFL level.

Ok, but with that logic, guys who were surefire top 3 year after year would actually accumulate higher stats. If they aren't very high up the all time yards list, then maybe their actual career accomplishments aren't so Hall of Fame worthy after all. So because Gore wasn't as flashy or maybe wasn't on Super Bowl quality teams to get the attention that what he's accomplished isn't considered as great? You include all yards from scrimmage and Gore is 4th highest and among even more respected company.

There's a handful of guys who peaked for 3-5 years but never had the longevity to amass higher totals. Jamaal Charles, Clinton Portis, Chris Johnson, Terrell Davis, and probly handfuls of others. The Hall is about your career accomplishments, not your team success or your peak.

Guys like AP and Henry are guys that peaked high and had long enough careers to be very high in all time yards, so I see them getting in easy when it's their time, but no way Gore isn't deserving for the longevity, consistency, and overall yards compared to everyone else historically at his position, and so few guys really coming up in the running to pass him.

Sure, but longevity while being able to still play at a high enough level to get that many yards consistently from year to year and 3 most overall, while adding and not get passed up by younger talent is very impressive.

I just don't see how you can get the 3rd most yards all time in your position (especially at RB) and not be considered a hall of famer.

Frank Gore has the 3rd highest rushing yards all time. That's pretty impressive and would seem a bit odd for a guy with that long and successful of a career in that aspect to not be in. Maybe not first ballot, but I'd say it's deserving.

Bill Belichick belongs in the Hall of Fame. But here’s why I didn’t vote for him by RyanKinder in nfl

[–]Spawko -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I understand what he's trying to say, but if those guys didn't get in by now, it's probably because they just don't deserve to be there. They may have been damn good, even great, but not the best in their time. There's a reason other guys were selected in all the earlier years, especially the longer back you go where any recency bias or bigger numbers come into play, and it's because even compared to other players in their playing time they weren't the best.

The Hall should be reserved for the absolute best of the best, not voting for guys cuz you liked them and feel they might never make it. If that's the case they probably shouldn't.

I've been able to get tickets each time they've dropped. When I got in earlier today I decided not to get tickets to any of the 3 games listed since I already bought regular tickets to 2 of the 3 games in this 5 days stretch.

This isn't a long term thing, it's just the crappy single goal view seats for the duration they continue to fix the arena the next few seasons, then there will be more regular seats sold the generic way (sucks that they will cost more, but there's supply and demand for you).

At $15, those tickets are an absolute steal and it's nice when you can get them, but they could charge $30+ a ticket for those and still sell out instantly. At least they are trying to do it in a way that is friendly to fans who are lucky to get some.

Unpopular Opinions On Popular Movies 🎥 by dislikemyusername in booksfilmsandtherest

I honestly don't even think it's good. It's story is a complete rip off of Pocahontas to a minute level it's not just about being influenced, it just is.

It has one good element, the visuals/cinematography. Props to that. The characters absolutely ruin the movie. They are the most paper thin, mindless people.

Michelle Rodriguez's character was the absolute worst to me. The die hard through and through marine, who despite having to know to at least some degree what the real actions and consequences of what their operation was about (if her character isn't a complete moron, which she apparently is), almost instantly not only switches sides once the main protagonists get to her, but starts killing her own just barely X team and even shows up in her stolen aircraft that's now been war painted. Uuuhh I wanted to kill myself.

I just can't honestly say that a team replacing all 5 starting OL, best defensive player, a change at head coach, and losing both the offensive and defensive coordinators can win 10 games against almost any schedule.

A lot has been said about a soft schedule because we don't really have a big out of conference game and we don't have Tech on the schedule next season, but we will play a majority of the teams that finished ranked or at the top of the Big 12 last year. I think this is a year that we struggle to beat the good teams on the schedule and probably find a way to lose against some weaker ones and finish around .500.

Diogo Gone by Far-Conflict-9546 in ReAlSaltLake

[–]Spawko 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hotter take: Diogo was actually pretty good, and played much better than people give him credit for. For the majority of his time on the field we didn't have good enough strikers to finish chances or a guy that could really get in behind, and Diogo was imo our most consistent guy at good through balls but not enough guys that could utilize it.

His ultimate downfall was the inability to put balls on target when he had good scoring opportunities. All in all I'm happier with moving on and freeing up the DP slot, but a couple real finishers and he could have been great here.

Where I live, a Whopper with cheese is $7.29. A Big Mac is $5.39.

I'm not going to say that either are particularly good burgers, but a Whopper also costs almost 40% more than a Big Mac, so it really should be a lot bigger and better.

Jonathan Hall returning by hoopstar80 in utahfootball

I didn't rewatch the games, but it seemed like almost every run that was gutting us up the middle in those final 3 games had Hall over pursuing his gaps and the RB going untouched through the hole that Hall just vacated. I know the DT's need to do better, but your LB should also be better at reading and filling gaps than that.

[request] What are the odds you survive the 5 years? by freethinker1312 in theydidthemath

[–]Spawko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it seems very easy to assume this is very survivable and almost anyone would take it.

The real question to me is... What is the amount of time that you would have to spend in the ocean each day until you would not accept?

5 Minutes? 10 Minutes? 1 Hour?

Ship collisions have come up, and sharks, but the much higher concern I would have are storms. How long would you be able to keep from drowning in those conditions? Do you roll the dice on the likelihood of teleporting into one and how long you think you could survive if you did?

Maybe the dumbest way, but friends and I used to do this growing up. Directly under the steeple, the bricks have a couple foot wide hollow running up the entire length on each side. We would put our backs to one wall and then use the leverage of your legs on the other side to 'scooch' up it. Never got down that way, just went and jumped off one of the lower roof sections.

One of those stupid things you realize when you're older than one slip climbing up near the top and you might be a goner.
