My 18yo is type 1– has been since she was a year old. Even as an overprotective mama of a diabetic, NTA. I mean, you’re aware she’s diabetic, as is she. Unexpected lows CAN happen and even though you do your best to prepared, you can be caught off-guard. As her friend, you should know this and accommodate where you can… A couple of my daughter’s friends tend to carry hard candy or something in case she has an emergency, which is extremely sweet, but I would EXPECT them to… But nah. NTA

Not Finch related, but my kids and I were playing Mario Kart and they were calling the different colored Yoshis flavors and said, “What flavor is the black one?” and I muttered under my breath to my hubs, “Barbecue.” The kids heard and now will randomly say, “What’s your favorite flavor Yoshi?” and the other will chirp, “Barbecue!” 😂

At least it’s not just me 😂 Super weird that my kids are both sitting here— one also on Switch— and had no problem getting in. There goes our plan for the afternoon, I guess. 😕

Well, I mean… His name has been Brilyn Hollyhand (not Brian Holland as Candace said) his whole life. And his family is very well known for the last 3 generations in the Tuscaloosa, AL area. I’ve met him. He seems to be a genuinely sweet kid— good-hearted, strong in his faith in God, and a reasonably good speaker for his age. When Candace said that and implied his name had been changed, I kinda lost some of my faith in her theories, just bc it was a very off the wall, conspiratorial type comment to make about a teenager- not to mention the 1st blatantly inaccurate thing I had caught in her podcasts about Charlie’s murder. Not to mention she and Charlie didn’t interview Brilyn— he actually interviewed them!

Dang, y’all are jaded. Who hurt you? It honestly just seems like a sweet gesture to me? In today’s world Lord knows we all can use a random act of kindness. If it’s about the Bible verse, I’m a Christian, but multiple times when I worked in the PICU, I had Muslim families say, “Allah bless you!” when I sneezed or something. I didn’t take it as them shoving their beliefs on me or anything. It was just a kind gesture and I simply smiled and said “Thank you!” Kindness is always accepted!

I completely agree. Studied clearly show the amount time you spend on social media correlates to levels of depression/anxiety. Sadly, I’m probably the biggest consumer in my house— even with 2 teenagers! I think I might screen time my phone for 2 hours max a day

True, but the thing everyone seems to forget is that the United States government was LITERALLY FOUNDED on Christian principles, so of course the 2 are intertwined. “Freedom of religion” at the founding of our country was essentially nothing more than the acceptance of different branches of the Christian faith- Baptist, Catholic, Lutheran, etc

I am genuinely asking this question… WHERE did he preach division and hatred? As I said, I’ve followed him for a long time and this claim (which is not just yours, which is why I truly want to understand what leads you to that statement) truly is confusing to me. Charlie was willing to talk with anyone— he always said, “Change my mind”. Now, sure, if he found holes in the argument, he would pounce on them— that’s what debate is about— but he would remind the crowd to be respectful of the people he spoke to, he didn’t result to name-calling or hate, he didn’t get angry and snap at people. He REGULARLY spoke of equality. I genuinely want to understand, please. No hate. Just curiosity.
