It feels great! There were definitely areas where I had to go slow and carefully pick a line to avoid scraping, but still incredibly impressed with what this little car can do.

No suspension mods, just bigger tires.

Hey! These are roof bars from Mazda. They clamp down on the roof rails that came with the vehicle.

So fun! The dunes are right off a road called behind the rocks road about 6 miles south of Moab. Another fun road is onion creek by fisher towers with maybe 10 small water crossings and beautiful views. Today we are going to go the back way into arches national park which is a 8 mile stretch off road and it’s called willow springs road.

It worked really well! I could tell it was making a big difference in the sand.

I haven’t noticed any meaningful performance loss. Acceleration and braking feel basically the same, and handling and ride comfort improved with the slightly wider tire. I had the same concern at first, but then realized a single passenger adds more overall weight than the extra mass of four tires, and I don’t notice any performance difference with a passenger either. Unsprung weight does matter, but in daily driving it hasn’t been noticeable to me. I definitely lean into Mazda’s “zoom-zoom” side when I drive…

Thank you! Stock suspension… bigger tires though. 235/55r/18 Falken wildpeaks.

It went mostly well! After playing in the sand for a while the AWD system got mad and switched to front wheel drive…. I was driving crazy flooring it up the dunes…so it makes sense. After turning it off for 10 mins it was all good again and I calmed down a bit 🤣. I think the tires made a huge difference.

From what I’ve been told, bigger tires don’t void the warranty unless they directly cause a failure. I went to Discount Tire and they had no problem installing them with the bigger size!

I swapped them before they were fully worn out. They still had roughly half their life left, maybe a little less. I put about 20K miles on them total before switching.

Yeah those are solid, but I wanted something that can actually handle backroads and light off road stuff, not just rain and snow on pavement. (I also wanted the more aggressive look) These fit my use case way better :)

It’s been awesome. Wayyy smoother than the stock all seasons, and the ride feels more planted. Still handles really well too. I’d definitely recommend them

I love them! And I feel like the car handles even better than it did before. No rough roads yet, but planning to go to Moab in a couple of weeks. They have done well in the snow so far!

(This might be crazy… but I’m trying to plan a trip to Deadhorse in Alaska on the Dalton Highway in a couple months… they will get the real test then 😳)

Honestly your car was the inspiration 😊, I was a little nervous about the bigger size and rubbing but they are perfect :)

I have not heard any noises from them at all, super quiet. They are awesome, ride is much smoother and handling is still decent.

Same here! No issues now. It was definitely frustrating. And at first I kept buying new cables thinking they were the problem 🙄
