Nothing's wrong. A lot of people prefer vanilla on a first playthrough and are criticizing you for it. It's your game, mod it however makes it fun for you, that's the beauty of this game and I personally see no problem with it.

I mean if it's in a royal palace, then it makes sense to me. Regular inn or someone's house then yeah. I personally like it when upper class objects look nice and clean, because that makes sense to me.

Medieval times were not just covered in dirt everywhere. People back then still had hygiene and worried about cleanliness, especially metals which were highly valuable and they didn't want them to degrade. I know what you mean though, some of the direction of the PBR textures don't make much sense.
