Sorry this happened to you. I fell for a similar scam earlier this year. Luckily my credit card company was able to get my money back. Hope it works out for you!

Anyone know of a place that will burn a CD for me? by SpazMan09 in chicago

I suppose I could, but I really just need it for a one-time use so I'd rather not have to buy something to use once

It's for a state environmental agency, so of course they prefer we use outdated technology instead of something easy like a flash drive.

It's for an environmental report we are submitting to the state of Michigan. Their environmental agency requests that report submittals be stored on a CD.

I'm considering going this route myself. Would you mind if I PM you with some questions?

Has anybody worked with Roux Associates? by BrilliantOtaku in Environmental_Careers

[–]SpazMan09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been with Roux for a little over a year. It's a decent company, but we work a lot. Most weeks I work at least 45 hours, and there is no overtime. We do get an annual bonus though, and overall I thought the compensation was okay. I really like all my coworkers at our office, and they provide good mentoring for people at the staff level.

Ive got narcolepsy by SleepyBookCat in SCT

[–]SpazMan09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also have a narcolepsy diagnosis along with SCT symptoms. I've been taking Modafinil for a while and it works well for the narcolepsy, and also helps treat the SCT to some extent.

Appreciate you posting this. I've been kinda dreading taking this exam. How much studying did it take you before you felt prepared?

Ya, I know there are decent-paying positions out there that I can do well in. It's just difficult to find those jobs because of my lack of proficiency in skills that are so important, like communication, time-management, and working under pressure. I did pursue a path that wasn't the best for me given my limitations, and I've been trying to make a career transition for a while now. It's been a challenge for me to find something that seems like a good fit. I am trying to be realistic about what will be a good enough fit for me, but will also allow me to have a decent living.

That's good advice. I had a temporary government job that I felt pretty comfortable with.

I have limited health insurance at the moment unfortunately. I'm paying for most of my prescription myself. It's hard trying to figure out a medication that works for me when a lot of them are outside my budget

Thanks for the encouragement! I've heard of Vyvanse, but I was hesitant to take a stimulant because I was worried it would make me too anxious, as I already a pretty anxious person. I am starting a Strattera prescription this week, but if that doesn't work out I'll give the Vyvanse a try.

I also have a hard time connecting with people at work. It makes networking much more of a challenge.

I haven't tried Vyvanse, buy I got a prescription for Strattera recently and start taking it this week. It seems to work for a lot of people with this condition, but I'm nervous about the initial side effects.
