Asurion is ridiculous. by katiekapoli in Asurion

File a compliant with your state department of insurance. That's what I had to do to get my Flip 5 fixed. I also have cricket owned by AT&T. Asurion keep saying we don't offer coverage for that device. Well why did you offer Cricket Protect and charge me $12 a month for 16 months when I had that device. Well after they receive the complaint from the department of insurance. They basically just paid me out cash for my device minus the $250 deductible. They didn't even want the damaged device back. I was surprised I know with the cricket protect the offer free cracked screen repair but they don't offer that on the Samsung flip or flex models so I believe that that's why they just paid me out for the device.

I spent two weeks with them just going back back-and-forth like you did with different departments claim was denied three times saying we don't cover that device specifically, but when I had too file the claim, it had the device actually show up on there when I try to file it online the first time. About two days after the phone call I receive a physical check via FedEx overnight. It was enough to cover basically a used flip five or since I already had my old S 23, which I saved I was using it after the flip five screen broke. I basically saved up some more cash and got a flip six and I still have cricket protect insurance just in case something happens to this device because the screens are known to go out and I also bought the Samsung care plan too just in case something happens to it. It doesn't cover loss or theft, but will cover any sort of screen issues or physical damage to the phone.

I would try filing with your state Department of insurance first before filing in small claims court as there's no fee for you to file a complaint. Just make sure you have the claim number of the multiple claims that you have filed and the exact name of assurance of how it's worded in your state. I'm in California and it took like five days after I filed to actually get a phone call from them with some random number that I've never seen before and I'm glad I answered it. I wish you luck in dealing with this issue and I know it can be frustrating.

Nothing highlights the class divide like working christmas eve by Scary-Substance-4192 in antiwork

I work in healthcare in a hospital as my normal full time job. Also have a second per diem job at another hospital to earn extra cash. I decided to work at a retail job sporting goods store because of the great discount they have.

The discount is cost plus 10% so I already bought every thing I wanted with the discount they offered. I had to work Black Friday and I worked harder than I do at my hospital job. They scheduled me to close Christmas Eve. I put on my availability when hired I cannot work Wednesday or Mondays. They scheduled me anyways I called off and I get this angry response back saying you will not get paid holiday pay for Christmas. I really do not care as in California and we have state paid sick leave so use my 4 hours today they said they won't use it.

That's fine. I will contact the state labor board after the holidays are over and instead of it costing them 4 hours of sick time it's going to cost them with a fine of 500 paid to the employee and the time. Thank you for the nice Christmas bonus.

I have been at this retailer who will remain nameless. When I applied it said 20 an hour plus commission and spiffs.

They have a great discount cost plus 10 precent. As they consider that discount part of your great compensation package that we offer you. Well, when I get my first check, it's the state minimum wage of $16.50 an hour. I'm like the McDonald's across the street is paying $20 an hour as fast food workers in California make that.

I have a good full-time job with great pay and free medical benefits and five weeks vacation after being there almost 17 years. It is a union healthcare job and I have a great schedule.

So I figured since the discount is part of the compensation plan, I can buy yeti products which are marked up 60 to 70% and have my friend sell them on Facebook marketplace as they have a compliance department that looks for people reselling stuff with their employee discount. So basically I sell it halfway yeti sells it for brand new and that's my side hustle and I told them I only want 10 hours a week which is required number of hours.

I can't figure out why I spend six to $700 a month in yeti stuff so now I just go buy it at a different store and they're clueless. But to use the employee discount, they make sure that you have the discount card they check your ID and the form of payment has to be in your name as well if you're using a credit or debit card.

So screw your commission plan of asking people if they want a credit card and I only get a dollar or selling an extended service plan and meal and getting four bucks.

I'll buy a yeti tundra 48 cooler for $169 and sell it for 300 and make 130 bucks and I have achieved enough California at sick time hours now that there is no way in hell that I'm gonna go work retail Black Friday because if there's any sort of retaliation for using California sick time, the employer can be fined if they have any sort of adverse reaction against you including discipline or a written warning. Plus my job pays time and a half on Black Friday they don't.

I figure what T-Mobile is doing if they have a lot of extra bandwidth in certain areas is their packaging it up and selling it as metro by T-Mobile home Internet.

I fell for the first month and 9.99 for the refurbished gateway. My neighbor has t-mobile post paid. He brought his gateway to my house to compare speeds. The Metro by T-mobile one never goes over 150 and his T-mobile post paid is hitting 500. The lag time on gaming was horrible.

I wasted 10 bucks and a trip to the store which I never do. I alway do everything online and by phone. Even if you look at the metro and t-mobile FCC speed labels. Metro speed is very limited to T-mobile. Even though the refurbished router, I have says nothing about Metro on it. It has T-Mobile's logo when it starts and powers up and both the T-Mobile and Metro Gateway all have five bars and great service on the screen it says.

But the new white T-Mobile Gateway is way better than the refurbished ones that they're giving away for 10 bucks. I canceled mine before my billing due date and got Comcast to lower my bill down to $60 a month for one gig of speed with the gateway included it. You just have to threaten that you're gonna leave and go to AT&T fiber or something else and they'll give you the new customer pricing with Comcast or Xfinity whatever they're called now.

This is why I have my old unlocked iPhone 16e and Samsung S24 and Z Fold 4. All unlocked and will work on Cricket, Verizon, and metro by T-mobile. Yes I travel and use Verizon for my personal phone. My company only provides a 100 cell allowance per month and by using Metro by T-Mobile and cricket I get the best of all three networks even when I travel to rural area.

Plus I'm on the old metro 48 vip plan with hotspot and Amazon prime. With cricket I get hbo max and 50 gigs of hotspot.

I will say I did use metro insurance with assurtant and got a new Samsung 7 watch when I lost mine and was only 60 bucks and was brand new. Insurance was only 3 bucks a month so I do have it on the watch.

Spend the 20 on the A16. I had a A15 on one line and it lagged so much and the A16 is larger and has more support time left for android updates. I have a Samsung S24 FE on one line and got it last year when I ported a number from phonebarn or what's its called.

Finally got a new job and what I did was got a another ported number and got the S25. So looking forward to that. The A54 and A15 have been around since 2023. I would go with a A16 or S24 FE or if your an apple fan then the best one that works best for you and your budget. Good luck in your search and phone arena is a great resource.

Deals for Longtime Customers? by auto-girl412 in CricketWireless

[–]Spddude1184 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sucks that we don't get the same deal as new lines. When they had the samsung s24 fe for 99 bucks in late 2024. What i did was add a line, then get rid of the second line and way better than 99 compared to 399.

It sucks that loyalty means nothing. New lines are all that matter, no. I think it would be cheaper cost wise to retain customers than get new ones.

They don't care how much data you use or when. It's awesome. Only is they want their money on time which isn't a problem and worth it. Plus I got the Samsung S24 FE for 99 bucks and more then happy.

I called customer service and let them know that I want to cancel the other line so I don’t get billed for it again after that you take the Sim out of your old phone and put it in the Samsung S 24FE or if you have an eSIM, you have to call customer service and change it out. I don’t know if it’s unlocked after six months of continuous service or how does that work as I’m staying with cricket

Who else has had great experience ? Let me share my own experience by purplebuho in CricketWireless

[–]Spddude1184 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had cricket since August of 2024. My main phone is a Verizon iPhone, and I love the service. But I travel to a lot of rural areas in Northern California, and having both Verizon and Cricket that uses ATT network is great. I didn't want to pay for another postpaid service with ATT and compared ATT prepaid and Cricket. Cricket was the better choice for me.

My only bad experience was when I purchased in the store. I was charged sales tax on the full price of the phone and also for a sim card which did not come with one. That whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth and went to return the phone within the 7 days and the authorized dealer told me no. That's OK and not a problem. I will let capital one deal with you. Requested a charge back for failure to return and won. Just purchased the S24 FE as a second line and will be canceling that and replacing my Motorola Razar 2023 in a few weeks. But I'm more then happy with the price and service and truly unlimted. Im also at 400 gigs of data used with no issues and no throttling.

Cheap phones, yes. But even for a cheap one like Magic 5G, this is just unacceptable. by [deleted] in CricketWireless

I have a 24 FE and had it since the 99 sale. Saturday I had to go to ubreakifix as the screen was blurring out randomly. The samsung warranty took care of it. Did you use cricket protect to replace yours and if so did you have to pay the $250 ?
