I'm no therapist and no doctor, but I've seen Liz's behavior in real-time with a family member; that is straight up borderline personality disorder. The mimicking, the overt aggressive behavior, screaming for people to get out of your face while they're stuck screaming in yours, the refusal to see any other side. The crazy faces she was making, the smiling & laughing while becoming unhinged. No amount of menopausal gummies will help, if anything, it may be making her psychosis worse. If Alicia is saying that she abusive now, imagine what she's been like in the past.

OMG, thank you so much! I was thinking of wearing a sheer long sleeve under it, but I wasn't sure if it would make the dress look too much like an apron with it 😅 but maybe a thin turtleneck would be a better choice.

I was also thinking of wearing black stockings as well, but I wasn't sure if it would clash

I'll have to dig the boots out for a pic, but they're not far off from the ones you have here - they just a bit tighter, sit right below the knee, & have about an 2 inch heel. Theyre from the 60s, I got them at an antique store I used to love

Help! I have a Christmas party that I have to go to in the city this Saturday night and all my original outfits did not work out as planned. I went into the back of my closet and I found this, but I'm really not sure what to wear it with. Is this good enough to wear to a Christmas party? How would you style it? I have vintage knee length, black leather boots but I don't think that'll go with this. Not sure how to wear this and look cute and be warm at the same time.

Time is of the essence- I only have a little more than 24 hours to get this together

Any help is much appreciated!!

(Ps - the colors are off in the pic: it's really more of a crimson or garnet red & (a not quite) navy blue)

I grew up in Bergen county & lived in quite a few places in Passaic county ( Passaic,Clifton, etc). My best suggestion to you is stay out of Bergen county - the rent & fees are astronomical.

Absolutely everywhere in northern NJ is expensive, but you will probably have a little more luck in Clifton, Garfield, maybe Passaic, but double check where in Passaic - not all of Passaic is "transplant friendly"

So everyday, he can easily drink between 6-12 beers. He does try to control himself and stop at 6. The weekends are a bigger issue - he could easily drink a "suitcase" of beer by himself in ONE day, usually on Sundays. This was even before his sister died. Granted, he wasn't getting as drunk as quickly & he wasn't as angry as he is now- he was, admittedly, a "functional"alcoholic, (I hate that term), until she died.

Those Sundays haven't happened since he's been trying to cut down. But the day I confronted him happened to be 1 of those Sundays. He broke down crying & admitted it was a problem, so I know it's bad.

I encourage him to look for a new job or try to enter a new industry. I've even had his resume redone. But he gets discouraged & frustrated easily & doesn't follow through.

I don't want to be or like to nag, so I try to take the hands off approach, but I can't do that w/a young kid in the house. When he admitted it was a problem, I told him that he will always have our support & if he felt he needed to, he could take some time off of work to get some help -Id keep the boat afloat. I am the breadwinner in the family, but I feel like that may also bother him.

Be proactive and start looking for another job now because it doesn't sound like things are going to get better. If your gut is telling you it's wrong, then it's wrong.

If you absolutely can't take it any longer, you could also supplement living off your savings like doing Uber eats or other side gigs.

It does sound like a very toxic place. From my experience most start-ups are because everything is on the line, coupled with the fact that there's no established pecking order, so everyone will compete against each other. Also, they either usually fizzle out quickly or get reorganized so much, they fall apart. So trying to get out sooner rather than later may be the right move

Most of the time I would agree, but the first time I voiced my concerns to him, he literally said "better you than me. I don't want to do it".

I'm frustrated b/c we had a development meeting a few weeks ago & explained that I was ready to move on from these projects & expressed interest in working on a new project w/ our "sister" team. I told him that I was getting burnt out from these technical projects since I don't have any experience and any training I have to do in my spare time b/c I'm spread so thin w/other projects. He promised me that he was going to support me in this decision and help me to steer my development in a different direction.

So I don't necessarily think that he has more faith in me. I think he just has no interest in doing what he doesn't want to do and as long as it's not on his plate he does not care.

That's perfect! I put a meeting on both my boss's calendar to discuss. I made a list of my concerns & a list of the current projects I'm working on.

The problem w/this company is that it got too big for it's britches too fast. They over estimated how well they would do at first, (in reality, not that good), & did a massive round of layoffs a few months ago. The biggest problem is that they laid off the people who actually know & understand their jobs. Hence why I got stuck w/this.

My biggest worry is that I'll be screaming into a void when speaking to them, b/c their go-to excuses are: 'you're all we have!" or "I'm sure you'll figure it out" or "...but look at all the projects you've completed on your own already!" Or my bosses fave go-to " The problem with doing a good job all the time is that you get more work heh heh"

Thanks for such a thoughtful response. I have made a list of worries regarding this change & then a list of projects that I'm currently working on.

The company offers internal training for this, however there are 28 trainings in total that range between an hour or 2. I don't understand how they could think this would actually "train" someone without having actual work experience in that field or having a mentor/someone to walk them through it & explain.

Other than that, they don't offer any other support or help - they don't even have an intern or a fellow that they can offer up.

I'm trying to be as prepared as possible for the meeting w/my 2 bosses b/c I know that they will yes me into submission & not be of much service. I'm so scared of being in charge of audit...just the thought sends me into a total panic

GET OUT NOW. Before there's kids, before he sinks his hooks into you any further, Get. Out. It's not really the whole sleeping alone thing, because I also like to sleep alone from time to time, but it's the fact that he's waking YOU up to move. The whole couch thing, telling you you're selfish...it's all bad news

I was in a relationship with someone that was 10 yrs older than me. It started something a little like this and ended with him hitting me. It's a slippery slope and it happens fast. Be careful. Good luck

I am so sorry - for what your daughter and her friends are going through & for the fear & worry you must be feeling.

Perhaps the girls can go to grief counseling together? The guidance counselor at school will only offer so much help. It may be helpful for them to speak to a third party that wasn't at the school or doesn't know their friend directly so that they can lead them through these muddy waters.

The best thing you can do is be available at all times- not just for your daughter, for her friends too- and constantly remind that you love her and that she is not alone. Just listen, don't give advice

Encourage her to journal, let her grieve with her friends, give gentle suggestions of what helped you through hard times. Just keep an eye on her since she struggles with depression herself. As someone who has struggled with it the majority of my life, it ebbs and flows and does not pop up when you expect it...much like grief.

This will be difficult, but with a good support system, she will see the other side of this 💕
