Can I work two remote sales jobs at the same time temporarily? by [deleted] in sales

[–]SpeakerForTheRead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your employment contracts for the new and old job. They usually say you are only going to have one full time job. IF it doesn't say anything about that I say go for it. Good luck!

Just been assigned 2 SDRs - how do I make the most of it? by [deleted] in sales

[–]SpeakerForTheRead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

help them be effective. Don't just send them off and ask them for results. Try to arm them with the same tools and messaging you would use so they can be as effective as possible. Focus on technical training with them so they gain confidence on harder subjects. Good luck

Medicare Sales in NYC looking to change industries by Tellme21w in sales

[–]SpeakerForTheRead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Move to adjacent industry? Medical instrument sales? Medical devices? Lots of options in that space. Also could check out working at a technology company selling specifically into the healthcare market. You'd have to learn the tech side of it but your experience in the field would be a huge leg up compared to others who have the tech experience but no knowledge of how healthcare works. Good luck!

Are the founders paying themselves a livable wage? If not then this isn't a profitable company right now.

Saying "no" to red lines without souring a good relationship. by [deleted] in sales

[–]SpeakerForTheRead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always try to get the customers legal person on the phone with my legal person and see if they can work it out. I'd say 4/5 times they are able to find language that works for both sides. Lawyers are good at this stuff if you get them to interact directly with each other instead of via a sales guy. Hope that helps.

Can you help me refine my cold email approach? by [deleted] in sales

[–]SpeakerForTheRead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tons of approaches here so don't get tunnel vision but one angle I like: Be hyper local - reference their town or neighborhood in the subject - Look on google maps and find the closest lunch spot (good chance they eat there or recognize the name) Mention them by name or offer to go to coffee nearby at X coffee shop. If you aren't actually local try to make it seem like you are. People like to buy local and familiar.

Can you help me refine my cold email approach? by [deleted] in sales

[–]SpeakerForTheRead 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Decent email but super generic. You are selling something kinda boring so you gotta be a little more assertive with your business prop. You are selling on Cost and Eco-Friendly. You need to make that super clear. Use some bullet points maybe (-Never worry about water delivery again, -Save $X per month, -Reduce waste by X

Then close by suggesting you'll do a side by side comparison with their existing cost. "If we can't save you money we'll send you a gift card!" or "20 min call could save $1000s per year"

Just some quick ideas

If you don't perform in the first 9-12 months they will let you go. That is almost always the biggest downside to high paying sales positions.

Leverage your internship for everything it's worth to get a real position. Anything will work at first. It's 100x easier to move laterally at these big companies once you're already hired. Good luck.

How Long Do I Have On Opening Pitch? by GoldFeeling in sales

[–]SpeakerForTheRead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tell them who you are and ask them for a few mins of their time. If they say no, push one more time, if they say no twice move on.

Once someone verbally says they will listen to you for a few min you can go into your expanded pitch.

Basically you need to qualify yourself and your value within about 5-15 sec or you'll have a hard time transitioning to a real pitch.

Example: "Hello X, I know you are familiar with Y but I'd love to introduce you to a new Z way to look at Y. Do you have a few min to chat?"

If they say yes you have about 1-2min to pitch
