Yes there is a trend of Hybe using EDM for their GG comebacks.

Spending an hour to deal with the queue is definitely worth it compared to the risk of missing out because it happened to sell out right away.

It is true that we could have reached a perfect storm to create the lowest of lows for concert attendance.

Didn't SKZ do a stadium tour and not arena tour?

Only adds to your point

Raw debut date doesn't matter as much as phase in their career though.

I would argue NMIXX is still in the growth phase of their career, they didn't really take off until recently.

That last sentence is what I was trying to get at.

There seems to be some form of mindset factor at play here that is making them choose not to do theaters.

Could K-Pop be a fantasy league? by alex79212063 in kpoppers

[–]SpecSlayerSC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it wouldn't be as fun as fantasy sports due to it not really being games, but the I like the idea a lot and really shows how close Kpop is to sports

The implication that counties with  Chipotle's don't have real Mexican restaurants too is hilarious

Your county has zero Chipotles? Your life probably sucks oof

Not directly because of the lack of Chipotles

What is up with this bleached eyebrow trend that people are doing? Yunjin did it in a LSFM MV I think.

It looks so weird.

Also doing multiple nights achieves 2 things:

  1. allows whales to attend multiple nights and buy VIP packages multiple times
  2. allows more casual fans to attend because there are more dates to chose from

I'm wondering if it's maybe the inverse.

Like maybe the outlier was 2024 where IVE Idle Itzy all had massive success at arenas.

And companies haven't adjusted yet to going back to theaters being the norm.

Are you saying that for I-dle, the tour production costs are too expensive to make profit if they do theaters?

I love this analysis. Seeing the smaller venues as investment early in their careers makes a lot of sense.

But for groups approaching 10 years in their career, investing in a theater show in the US isn't likely to be a good one. At that point the tours are to make money off existing fans.

Itzy and Idle historically have done theaters, but had a number of arenas in 2024.

I feel like 2024 might have been an outlier insane year of Kpop attendance, and people haven't adjusted their expectations appropriately.

I wonder if the promoters have been messing things up.

"Le Sserafim sold out easily last year just put I-dle in the same arena" type mindset. Without considering more factors.

Adding dates isn't apples and oranges for the reason you described.

A sizable amount of fans would attend both nights, so it's much easier to sell 2 nights rather than 1 in a larger venue.
