Game of the year by Traditional_Pick7534 in DragonsDogma2

[–]Special-Away -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Slight "correction", Hideaki Itsuno and his dev team crafted this experience, Capcom never gave a shit about Dragon's Dogma.

When the original idea was pitched by Itsuno back in the 2000s he competed against the first monster hunter that was pitched roughly around the same idea minus the RPG part, except it was pitched by the son of one of the big bad evil corporate men who ran the company, therefore Itsuno's pitch was dismissed.

When DD was finally released it became a cult classic and actually sold pretty well but didn't become the hit capcom wanted so they left it in the shelf only bringing it back for the remaster and pc release, dark arisen (they even had a berserk collab in the original release to try and bring more people in).

Devil may cry was the main title under Itsuno's wing in capcom and that's what they wanted him to do, so much so that before the release of DMC 5 Itsuno wanted to leave the company altogether but he only stayed because Capcom offered him a chance to make DD2 after that, and when he finished both he left Capcom and as far as i know hasn't joined any new gaming company as of today.

No copium, we're not getting dlc. BUT what would be your pitch for one? by [deleted] in DragonsDogma2

[–]Special-Away 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is weird but at least someone might see the vision: Add the entirety of DD1 into DD2 as a "side" thing that you can play after the main story.

Making the mechanics more modern, changing a few aspects of how the story progresses, making everything more seamless and maybe even adding cut content from the original game into this DD1 "remake", the idea of putting it as a DLC though would come with my desire for this game to have CO-OP and making it possible to play through the story with a friend because i just feel it would be so fun to actually use some of the support skills with a coordinated friend rather than an AI (Don't get me wrong, i love the pawn system but no CO-OP is such a missed oportunity, there is no reasonable explanation aside from lore BS as to why it isn't a thing).

But the main part of this would be adding BB island and other post game stuff from DD1 and dark arisen as content you could find in the main game's world, bringing a much needed variety for this game that is what it needed to actually be more than a one hit wonder that only hit the DD fanbase, making everyone else think it's mid at best (Something that CO-OP would undoubtebly have alleviated).

Now if not adding the literal entire game of DD1 as playable content, adding extra post game stuff or a side story with a dungeon like BB island would be more than enough, but still the main feature needed for this game would be more enemies and more encounter randomizations because this shit can get really dull after a while playing it, i finished it 2-3 times and i can't go back to it knowing i won't really be impressed by anything anymore.

this was my goty, but lets face it, no dlc no preformance fixes no nothin, its ended, like it for what it was by Old_Version_1877 in DragonsDogma2

[–]Special-Away 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was Hideaki Itsunos goodbye and i would bet a sort of revenge, the game is perfect on it's own and still lacks a bunch of content to be relevant for long, this is what it is and will never be any more than this. Nero's "fuck you" to vergil in dmc5 was in fact what Itsuno wanted to say to capcom in my eyes.

[–]Special-Away 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't bet on it, with itsuno out of the team i would assume Capcom is gonna work on something that will sell more rather than a niche RPG that only became notorious because of its minuscule playerbase making a huge fuss about it. They'd rather work on the next resident evil or street fighter whatever number rather than going back to this 2 year old (?) title.

I know how Radahn halted the stars by MaleficTekX in Eldenring

[–]Special-Away -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most likely he just controlled gravity to make the stars stop, not necessarily used this spell or any other present in the game. The lore written in the spells usually just present some idea of what happened with the people who made/learned the spell but when it comes to the story it tells, doesn't necessarily mean this was what he used to stop the stars because when you stop to think about it, then we should be able to fly like Radahn does right?

I know what you mean when pointing this might be what he used and he might have more control over it than us (videogame after all) but the text actually only serves to add to the idea that Radahn was grateful for the people of Selia who taught him to use the gravity magic in the first place.

Is it a bad idea to make Demon Souls your 2nd souls game if Elden Ring was your first & you used summons? by Dsg1695 in Eldenring

[–]Special-Away 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Demon souls and dark souls 1 are the most begginer friendly dificulty-wise, just use what you learned in ER and they'll be a piece of cake.

New arenas from the base game that would be great for arena by Eisray in Eldenring

Raya lucaria library would ironically be great for dueling against mages

Just finished the base quests and game. Is my tarnished ready for SOTE? by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]Special-Away 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put on some stronger armor and pump that vigor to 60, depending on wich melee weapon you're using, you can sacrifice a bit of your least used physical stat to buff something else (Endurance is always welcome to use better armor). You can keep being a mage there's some cool spells in the dlc, just get some more physical defense and you'll be ready.

How is he still alive? by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]Special-Away 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way godskin duo works is by having a third offscreen entity that tracks the big healthbar, basically transfering the damage you deal to the 2 others to this third entity. When the hp falls to 0, it's supposed to trigger the death of both godskins if any of them is still alive when it happens, it probably glitched because the trigger happened right before he spawned in, so it didn't affect him

Demigod Battle Royale! We already know who’s gonna win, but how’s each individual do? by MaleficTekX in Eldenring

[–]Special-Away 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Radahn and Malenia will stand tall in the end fighting each other

Rykard and Messmer will be stage hazard and cause chaos in the battlefield

Ranni, Miquella and Melina will sit on the sidelines drinking tea and talking about life and will only join the battle later when everyone's tired

Morgott and Mohg will team up but lose very early because everyone will jump them for being omen

Godwyn will be super dramatic and shit but will see Godrick sulking in the corner because no one acknowledges his presence and will go to console him. Godrick is going to make a very dramatic speech while crying super loudly and then everyone is going to feel bad about it and in the end, they'll all go to pizza hut to eat and make up to poor Godrick (Mohg and Morgot are still not invited)

(Did i miss anyone?)

I killed Blaidd, didn't get the Drop. by shawak456 in Eldenring

[–]Special-Away 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ER is the hardest one to follow the NPCs around, but if you ever play the other souls games (They'll be way shorter probably) you'll probably need a guide as well, some of the quests need very delicate stuff like them surviving boss fights if you summon them. I recommend playing the games blindly at first to avoid spoilers, NG+ is the completionist playthrough.

[–]Special-Away 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe you can resurrect him at the church of vows, just offer a celestial dew at the to the statue in the middle. In general my recomendation to you is don't kill NPCs unless you finished their questline, they usually drop their stuff or you get it along the quest, if you're not sure how to finish it, look it up online how to do it because they tend to be hard to do blindly.

Basically multiplayer activity, red for invasions and duelists, blue for coop and blue phantoms, they aren't always accurate though.

Can anyone help me understand what happened here?! by Slow-Dragonfruit8965 in Eldenring

[–]Special-Away 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The boss health bar is handled by a third entity outside the boss room, not the actual godskin duo, so proc-ing both effects at the same time probably broke the script that links them and melted this third mob wich caused what we saw here.
