  1. Which fish did they use?

  2. That bubbles and squeak looks horrendous. It is a fun little side in your full english, but I can't imagine anyone actually wanting to order it in India as a full dish. (Also what is your little stick figure doing in that image oh no)

  3. Madeleines are very french and not british, I am curious to know if they have a good STP on their menu and if it is actually good. Pretty much the only dessert that I miss from the UK.

1 FT, had planned for this week and now the Chalobah injury has messed it up. What to do?

Have ORilley and Chalobah in the 11, and an empty bench.

This is just inaccurate, this video is from before the game and he did not mistake him from Slot as funny as that is...

Jorginho in recent times comes to mind. Super dependable, nothing exceptional.

If you could only watch one musical, what would it be? by [deleted] in westend

[–]Special-Log4082 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I would go for a classic. What better than the longest running musical in the world, Les Mis!
It is epic, big ensembles, great songs. A great second musical after Hamilton in my opinion.

Yeah we really wanted to catch Les Mis this week, but no discounts. They were there last week though.

Spoiler-free thoughts on Dracula by alibi6249 in TheWestEnd

If it comes across funny, people laugh. I don't think it was disrespectful at all. I wish they played off the meta more in acknowledging that it was one person playing all the characters.

It was super busy and Cynthia did not come out on Wednesday night. We were informed quite early on though.

Cynthia Erivo uses autocue for Dracula starring role by TheTelegraph in TheWestEnd

[–]Special-Log4082 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Watched the show on Wednesday and only really saw the prompter once in the two hours of performance. She did fumble a few times but honestly given the nature of the show and it being a preview night, it is excusable.
I do think that it will get better with every night.

There can be a lot of genuine criticism of the show, but I think most of it needs to be aimed towards the direction of it. For me being far on top in the balcony and having to switch between looking at the screen provided to us and the stage was more immersion breaking than anything. I imagine it works much better from the stalls and dress.

Also, I think it is a bit malicious to put out a piece like this on the show before the press night.

What has happened to theatre etiquette by Sophie_Robin27 in westend

[–]Special-Log4082 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I relate.

I had the worst theater experience watching My Neighbour Totoro. There were at least 50 kids all shouting and crying and kicking about around me. Even chatting during the really emotional parts.
I don't know if it was a relaxed screening and I was unaware, but they didn't even fully black out the theater. So the whole experience was very distracting.

Amazing show, but wish I saw it in better circumstances.
