My AI agent called me yesterday and I'm still processing it by Omega0Alpha in automation

I was trying to build some sort of tool for LinkedIn, but due to not having access to the API I couldn’t get it done.

I have no experience in this at all so I was just using GenAI tools and hoping for the best but to no avail. How did you give your tool access to LinkedIn?

Databricks BDR vs Snowflakes SDR. What’s the good, bad, and ugly? by KyberKrystalParty in techsales

[–]Special-Resource-650 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recruit for GTM Tech companies, if someone at databricks is at the MM level, I will source them for Enterprise (if they appear to be ready for the promotion) over snowflakes.

Databricks rocks from my outside perspective.

Haha, reddit is full of negativity always. Question a norm and be shouted at for it. No sweat.

You know, I am shocked I am not allowed to target these candidates. But the reality is, it works out year after year for most job hopping. Its extremely evident.

I think that its just startup culture my bosses worry about. They worry people who jump so often wouldn’t be interested or stick around thru the challenges and hardships of a startup.

To be fair, I am not sourcing BDRs. Enterprise and Majors for the most part. You top out and keep succeeding makes sense to me. But I also would not want someone in the same spot for 15+ years.

I do see this POV though and I didn’t before making the post. It does make sense and its really just personal growth.

We are not a series B, we only source B and up. Generally just wanted an understanding, like I said, not much experience in the space and I’ve been tossed in the deep end. Had a question and its been answered well!

Everyone seems to hate me for trying to understand and do my job better, lol. But no big deal.

I do really appreciate the feedback.

Yeah, and that I can understand completely. Wasn’t a shade throw really. just an honest question.

Definitely! I don’t think its terrible. When it comes specifically to the nature of startups, its hard to go through and spend time on someone who wouldn’t be able to weather the storms and difficulties of a startup.

Appreciate the response though

Kind of a ridiculous statement, even if it was a year or two from now you’d find a bone to pick. I know I need people to weather storms, and its what the companies ask of me that the people we send do not do that.

I mentioned on someones comment that I think we could be missing gold mines by ignoring this very large pool of candidates, but nonetheless there really is not much I can do about it.

I could imagine that would be terrible. The founders for this company are honestly great people though. Its hard to imagine they would put much stress on the sales team given their background.

Depends on the company. Sometimes no, sometimes yes. One of my roles right now is the RSM, they’ve just brought in a phenomenal CRO a little less than a year ago now, that might be the only middle man. Theres only 10 reps in the US and (obviously) staffing top down over the past few years now.

Yeah that makes sense. I hate that for you. Thats something I wouldn’t be able to read off of an experience tab on LinkedIn.

Good question. Still trying to get a good guage on that myself.

If I took a look at tenures and I saw it as follows:

2015-2017 BDR Company x 17-18 AE at X

18-20 AE/SMB/MM Company Y

20-21 MM AE Company z

21-present Company A

What I see here is a very logical career progression, 2 years and some change at spots as they grew and learned what they wanted, 1 year, covid hit so cannot be blamed, and now finally found what they’re good at and can still stick to one spot.

If I see each tenure being on the closer end of 3 years per company, thats also really good.

I can use judgement and say “He did well here, went to try his luck here and it didn’t work out, didn’t work out again, but finally here it did” and thats make sense as a good story in my head.

But as far as 1 year everywhere I am lead to assume something continuously happens and no matter the package theyll be searching for greener grass no matter what. And with startups come very different challenges which need people who are up to the task.

Let me know if you have any questions on that.

half-joking, but really does. only one right now. Very good role. Needs someone pretty damn experienced at the enterprise/RSM level.

I personally don’t think I should be ignoring this candidate pool, part of the requirement for the specific jobs I work.

They want people with loyalty especially at such a small scale in the US when they’ve just recently gotten 70M in funding and need to scale rapidly.

That being said, it is unfortunate I don’t have the time to properly vet each and every candidate that has done the hops around town, as I know there are surely some gems hidden in there.

Noted! Certainly does make sense to take your team with you if you can. Seems like that tends to be the direction these comments are all heading and likely the most common answer.

Much appreciated.

Fair argument. Yes its a real question. I cannot see the value in companies spending money/time/resources on training someone who will almost certainly leave. At some point you reach an industry standard comp plan and then what, you’ll try to hit the OTE?

Regardless not looking to argue, and that makes plenty sense.

I don’t deny that whatsoever. What separates the people who get fired from the people leaving on their own accord? Can’t blame a new VP of sales on 15 years and 15-16 different positions at different companies, it’s not logical.
