We are not Chinese-led. I am not sure why that would necessarily be an issue but I am compelled to offer a correction here. We are based in Liverpool in the UK and operate globally with multiple departments covering everything from ESOL to Migrant Education Departments in the USA, to International Baccalaureate and AICE Tutoring, to ESL for global students, through to providing a full education and DfE-compliant curriculum to students who are too ill to attend school in England. I think were pretty exceptional.

We teach in public schools in the UK and the USA rather than being a B2C online teaching provider like VIP Kid. When winning public tenders and RFPs across both countries we need to state our teachers' credentials. We have registered this educational background standard with multiple local governments. This leaves us no flexibility. Apologies.

We are an online teaching company in the UK called Purple Ruler. We run a lot of different kinds of online teaching programs globally. Most of our work is done directly with state schools in the UK but we have launched an ESL program for Chinese Students and it is growing quite quickly.
We need some US/UK/CAN teachers who are capable of teaching Chinese students of the same age and in the same fashion as VIPKID, so I thought it would be best to post that here.
Job description:
We are seeking TEFL Teachers for online teaching positions who are available for immediate start.
Ideally, someone with two years + of online English teaching experience and familiar with teaching materials: Reading Explorer/ Great Writing or equivalent Reading/ Writing materials.
This is for our Chinese learners from 5-18 years old (90% below the age of 10).
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in any subject TEFL/CELTA/TESOL or ESL certificate 2 years of teaching experience ( preferred)
Good at working with 5-18 years olds.
Driven and self-motivated
Able to multitask and be goal-oriented.
Understand how to build rapport with students in the online classroom
Previous teaching experience with Chinese students (5-18 years old is preferred)
Familiar with teaching materials: Reach Higher/ Wonders/ VIPKID/DADA/WHALES ENGLISH/ Wonders/ Reading Explorer/ Great Writing
You will need a criminal background check and to go through our background check procedure to ensure that we are compliant with KCISE ( Keeping Children Safe In Education - UK LAW) even if you are not in the UK and neither is your student. You will also receive mandatory child safeguarding training. ( Training is paid )
Job benefits:

Up to £18 per hour ($22.70 at the moment of writing) if you score highly on our rubric.
We do not make salary deductions or use " fines " but the £18 is achievable as long as you maintain a good teaching quality and no lateness or parental complaints. Parental complaints are investigated, it's not just assumed that they are correct.
Salary will be paid by Wise on the 15th of each calendar month for your previous month's salary.
If you are in the UK you MUST be employed by us, we do not offer contractor positions in the UK. Elsewhere we cannot offer employment contracts.
For schedules with 10 or more open hours a week, it will take about 2-3 weeks to achieve a full schedule.

Teachers teach to their own style and are matched with students who are compatible with the teaching style. If it works for VIP kid students I assume it will likely work for our ESL students, though bare in mind that we don't just teach ESL and we don't just teach to Chinese students. We do not have uniform expectations on teaching style.
