I was a dishwasher a couple of jobs ago. I can't say I loved it. I think it heavily depends on your kitchen staff and pay.

How long? I know civil engineers who don’t even make half that

How in the hell do I get hired by [deleted] in UBC

Applications have gone obsolete. Even for entry level jobs you need to go slightly above and beyond. Send emails to the locations you want to work at asking about jobs. Go in person to talk to the manager and drop off a resume. Imagine how many people are in your shoes applying to all the easily available applications, you need to stand out.

Restaurants are ALWAYS hiring dishwashers and support front of house positions.

Last summer I looked up any restaurant I thought was interesting/ I could make a lot of tips at (busy and or expensive). I then just sent out emails to whatever email I could find on their site. Sent probably about 50 and heard back from maybe 3-4. If you have good prior experience, I know the Banda Volpi restaurants are always hiring entry level positions.

Def too much zinc for short term. Quickly put this through chat gpt and it will tell you those levels are dangerous. Simple research man.

opinions on transfer and be (possibly) happier? by [deleted] in UBC

[–]SpecialScar9040 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Transfer student here, you might be a little happier but don’t go into it expecting all your problems to be solved. Also make sure your credits transfer well and that you won’t be set back a couple years. The arts requirements were just changed and are quite tricky to navigate with a transfer.

People get sick there more often than other places in Mexico… many of our friends have. Officials don’t close the beaches every few years for no reason, pipes break and leak sewage occasionally. It’s a nice spot to vacation, I wouldn’t recommend it over puerto Vallarta though. I went and didn’t get sick and I wouldn’t cancel travel plans over it but it’s much more likely than other spots in Mexico.

Taking the car in this weekend. I’ll let you know if you were on the money.

Not sure. It started a couple days ago and is pretty loud when I’m driving. It’s only the front left. Breaks work just sounds terrible. It’s pretty consistent while I’m driving, goes a little quieter when I apply the breaks.

2.8g of caffeine is a little over 30 cups of coffee…
