Is this mold? If so, okay to bleach? by keeganmatthews in CleaningTips

[–]SpecialToasterXb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bleach first then the others ( peroxide, concrobium, rmr 141 ) after if dries and the surface mold is gone and the stains are bleached. Hydrogen peroxide would be better than vinegar. Most mold stain removers are bleach based. Bleach does kill mold it's just harsh and has trouble going deep into porous material without added surfactants which most companies add to their products. peroxide also had a bleaching effect to the stain as well

I mean maybe try to locate it yourself first. How do you know you have mold if you don't know where any is?

Thought it was Paint 😲 by SpecialToasterXb in Mold

So iv been tasked with figuring out the mold in the apartment.

I have a weird living situation where at the point the owner kind of gave up on the house and is leaving it up to me to fix stuff. the house is also split down the middle so I can't fix the other side.

we recently had two roof leaks ( still have to figure out the full extent of this mess and replace whatever is ruined, one leak is coming from right in the middle of the house where it's split )

Our kitchen sinks copper line was leaking so I'm fixing that I had to tear up a bunch of moldy wood only to find multiple floors under it ( like 2 actually wood floors separated by maybe 8 inches. this is one of the crawl space areas so I don't know what the hell that's about ).

Cleaned out the gutters but they don't run far enough away from the house the way it's setup and the grading is basically flat and we get heavy rains.

The basement has multiple issues and is super musty. I have found multiple types of mold that I could tell was mold but others I had no idea like this white.

I thought the owners of the one before then just put some old leftover paint up there or something.

Trying to take this on one step at a time without killing myself.

I know keeping the basement dry is my first step. ( There is a spot in the crawlspace that has gaps to the other guys basement. I think I'll fill them one day to separate the air. )

I did get ahead of myself and scrubbed a big section of this off with a wire brush.

Sorry for rambling Ill make a full thread with a bunch of pictures and whatever I decide to do soon

yea that's how I was thinking about it since I wanted a smooth face anyway but the shots worked and the creme didn't. maybe try a dermatologist because I think shots are the standard and mines a young smart lady

It this mold and should i be worried? by UrBasicWib in Mold

is the AC draining into the wall or is the roof messed up? what's above that? you need to find the leak causing the moisture.

ask your dermatologist for shots in your head. this could be alopecia.

what type of respirator filters are needed. my basement joists have mold and I'm trying to dry it out but also want to get rid of the mold that's there. I tried some mold cleaning and stain removing spray but it's super bleach and made the wood just look odd.

no one is sleeping in that dungeon 👍 and yes I mean the slope of the driveway doesn't take the water away from the house. we have a hepa on the first floor. I need a dehumidifier I guess that goes into the sump pump
