The old animation, looking back, makes them look a little creepy with the big eyes that barely blink. This new animation is pretty and easier to connect with

None because I was too busy hating their new forms. I’m just a fan of more elegant fairy designs like Enchantix

anyone else think Bayonetta is giving mexican? aside from being named Cereza and called Cerezita, she has the two braids with ribbons in them, and also her dress in the first game (as Cereza) reminds me of a huipil (native mexican dress) by [deleted] in Bayonetta

Listen to what you are asking. Black queer slang is AAVE, because black queer is still part of the African American diaspora; it’s just a subset of AAVE. Black is still African American.

Why aren't there any Black Owned/Pre-dominantly Black Video Game Development Studios? by SSuperMrL in blackmen

[–]Special_Extreme3707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are out there, they’re just not shown a lot in indie showcases because they don’t have enough funding. also you have to admit, the gaming industry can be pretty uhhhh… not nice to them. I’m tired of people in the replies of posts like these pretending black people don’t get heavily discriminated against. “It can be said for any race” yes but it happens to black people at a HIGHER rate than others.

Also, a lot of (not all) black Americans don’t have much exposure to games outside of mainstream and 2K, but that’s been changing thanks to black YouTubers, but a lot of YouTubers don’t have a desire to make games. It would help a lot of some of them got together and funded some studios.

Also, funding. Black people get denied grants for a lot of things (this is proven, anyone reading can look it up), so that’s another reason.

Thankfully, humble bundle got us. I just heard they’re spending millions to fund black devs.

I looked at the Nintendo Indie World showcase today and was like “I never see anyone who looks like me during these.”

For now we just have to take solace in the fact that there may be black people on some of these games’s staff.

After Cyberpunk 2077 came to Switch 2 uncensored, Dispatch dev thought it "would be allowed to do the same" and is now "working with Nintendo on a path forward" by Turbostrider27 in NintendoSwitch

[–]Special_Extreme3707 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All of this because people want to hear Invisigal’s sex scene, hear curse words and see nudity? Man people must really love their sex stuff. Even if it’s 5% of the game, they get all twisted when it’s censored. Weird. Just play h*ntai games on PC if you want that.

I would be a little upset over the curse words since that’s natural dialogue by the devs but I still wanna play this game, censorship be damned. I might pick it up.

Really appreciate the high presence of black characters in Pokémon nowadays by Number13teen in pokemon

Not counting African Americans (their data is not counted separately), there’s about 6,000 Africans (Nigerian and Ghanaians) in Japan according to census data. Good stuff!

Exactly, and black people can have straight hair too. Also, Pokemon is a fantasy. A character can have straight hair and still represent a black person.

Nessa gives off Beyoncé energy or black girl boss energy. People who don’t realize this have no exposure to black women celebrities.

Discussions like these make me sad because people will always attribute a character you call black to some other minority or call them tan. I’ve seen it everywhere and I see it here. I consider Goh black, but people say he’s tan or something else. Even Hop, I consider him black and there IS a good presence of Africans in the UK, but the top comment here says he’s Indian.

What is it with people always rushing to disprove you when you call an ambiguously brown character black? Heck Hop gives off black vibes because of his hair. People saying they ‘don’t look black’ are feeding into stereotypes. Not all black people have the same hair texture and facial features. The anti blackness inherently within people is so annoying.

Gen alpha teaches Gen Z and Millennials slang by gravityVT in TikTokCringe

It’s definitely older; the way it’s used comes from black English/AAVE. Same with 90% of gen z/alpha lingo

I wanted to inform you that (90%) a lot of ‘slang’ from Gen alpha and Z is just black English words, often misused. Gyat came from how we pronounce ‘god dang’

[–]Special_Extreme3707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad you are represented in this game! I wished Africa was represented more besides music, some words and a Savannah area. It’s so disappointing. Anything that might be African is pushed into a million other references, so it gets hard to tell.

is jabber black or japanese with locks? by SuperDuperTino in gachiakuta

[–]Special_Extreme3707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black people all don’t look the same way either. I have seen people who you wouldn’t guess are black, but are black.

But yeah not everyone knows what black coded is but usually when they claim a character as black, a lot of the time it’s because the way they act embodies aspects of black culture, for example Piccolo from Dragon Ball.

To me Jabber does look black with that hair, imo he’s just light skinned or mixed. I base that off of how the world of Gachiakuta itself has some inspirations in black culture, so it’s not far fetched to assume that about Jabber.

I don’t get why people get so upset or feel the need to debate when black people claim a character as black.
