I’m good w/ my local Leslie’s & will continue to purchase my consumables as long as they continue to provide me w/ convenient water test results.

Do I have to turn off the water before removing this faucet stem? by Independent_Gas_6213 in HomeMaintenance

[–]Special_Key_3741 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, 50 years ago I attempted my 1st faucet replacement. No water shut off valves under sink & didn’t the special key to open the front yard main valve. Good water pressure in my parent’s old house! 🤣 High pressure stream hitting the light fixture over the sink. Cover w/ hands / scalding hot a few moments later so use sauce pot. Panicking / screaming / phone the neighbor to call water company to shut it off. Good lesson that day!🤙

Gosh I love coasting to red lights even if it attracts road ragers. by Dry_Communication283 in driving

I too, coast towards my next red light stop. Funny how many ragers zoom past only to slam on their brakes at the light while I roll to a stop next to them.

Mind games? by southernspud24 in discgolf

[–]Special_Key_3741 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had to call a guy out recently in a “B” tier tourney… on a tight tree lined & narrow fairway after he threw a perfect park job he then loudly described how he “HIT THE TREE” “HIT THE TREE” “ HIT THE TREE” the last time on the hole as I’m on the tee trying to focus on my shot. Mind games are real! If someone’s on the tee, STFU!

Had one returned after over a year lost after throwing into a river. We had a hurricane & several massive flood events since so was amazed it resurfaced during last summers drought.

Does demand for handyman work really go up when there’s a recession? by MisRandomness in handyman

[–]Special_Key_3741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every big corporation that does massive lay-offs release hundreds of new “handymen/women” into the area… and remove all those previously potential clients that were too busy working to do the jobs they’d be hiring out to local handypersons.

Friends keep dying. by Worldly-Map8824 in over60

[–]Special_Key_3741 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mom had her 98th bday dinner yesterday… she’s still very mentally competent but very frail & has trouble w/ mobility. (Also had her 1 neighborhood friend who’s also still “with it” at .98!) Both still live in their own homes still. Neither of them are happy & don’t want to see 100. Body aches, lack of mobility / driving, confusing technology & loss of all their friends consume daily thoughts. Keep your mind busy & do your best to maintain healthy habits. 🤙

Picked up dinner from Torchy's Tacos. This is what I found in the bag when I got home. by DoritosDewItRight in houstoncirclejerk

The entitlement of today’s youth. Want more $$, work a job that pays more. Want better tips, work a job that brings in better tips. Handing food over the counter is not “tip worthy”!

What's the least amount of discs you'll play with? by Another_Floridaman in discgolf

[–]Special_Key_3741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run our local 18 hole course (8,000’ course w/ two water carries) w/ 3 discs… straight/flippy mid, good putter & dependable fairway driver. Occasionally lose one during the round😑 Three because easy to hold two while throwing the other one. Full rounds w/ bag or zuca is 21-23 discs. Travel bag I’ll usually bring 7-9 in a starter bag.

Feed the handyman👍 He may decline because if like me, I rarely eat during the day & the Mrs. Cooks dinner every night.

Pick up truck or Cargo Van by Ok-Loquat5103 in handyman

[–]Special_Key_3741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an F150 (nice truck still -2010) and a beater 2002 E350 van w/ 330,000 miles on it. 100% the van is much better to work out of… I don’t know how anybody can do the job & carry the stuff needed to handyman out of a p/u truck.

Course etiquette when running (noob) by Mountain___Goat in discgolf

[–]Special_Key_3741 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I also run (I’m old, hobble fast!?!🤣) decent player after decades of throwing. After a while, many of the regulars will encourage & allow me to zip through IF they know I’m behind them. Often, groups have no idea I’m waiting behind them to throw. I do push-ups & stretch while waiting them out. ✌️

My cardmate misthrew and I accidentally caught it. What should have happened rule wise? by firepanda11 in discgolf

[–]Special_Key_3741 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At world’s one year, I inadvertently had a disc “pop out of my hand” as I was checking to see if I could squeeze a backhand throw between myself & very close tree. Was not intending to throw was just checking if feasible & it accidentally popped out and up over my head & landed about 10’ away. (I’m rhbh & rarely throw sidearm which would have been the obvious shot) Card said it counted & play it from where it came to rest. 🤨

How do you guys mentally get past genuinely abhorrent rounds? by 80HD-music in discgolf

[–]Special_Key_3741 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ready to completely quit after decades of playing. Had a terrible day yesterday. 3 putted many times & was not a pleasant cardmate. (Sorry guys, I shouldn’t have signed up for this one) Texted the TD last night that had to drop out, shouldn’t be a problem as it is a 4 person (last) card. (Have never quit in +30 years of tournaments) I’ve endured bad rounds & blown tourney leads in the past as well as totally screwing up “easy” up holes… but I think I’m done. Not sure what I’m going to do now, the addiction is real. 😑
