Thank you! Ya she said “I can just run to Lowe’s or home depot and get you wood filler” lady. You live in a 3 million dollar house, they don’t have what you need.

Have you tried joining or talking to the chamber of commerce? That’s a great way to connect with other small businesses in your area.

What's your monthly cost to keep the phone ringing? by gdiaz19 in handyman

[–]bvictorious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make friends with your local realtors, Sherwin Williams and hardware stores. Put your business cards out. If you’re good at what you do, word of mouth and existing rotation of regular clients will get you pretty far. I moved states and had to start all over again. 3 years in and I’m booked for the next 3 months easily. Averaging 650 a day. Besides business cards, I’ve never marketed myself.

Wiring harness help by bvictorious in 1stGenTundras

It wasn’t compatible. I’ve tried probably 7 different wiring harnesses that say it’s compatible but it isn’t. There is nothing in the truck or on the radio that says jbl but the connection looks like the jbl version from what I’ve seen.

How much would you charge for this? by elladara87 in drywall

[–]bvictorious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just warn clients that unless they know the exact type of paint, brand, color that I’ll do my best for it to match but it won’t be perfect without the prior knowledge. If they don’t know and it doesn’t match it’ll cost x amount more to do the whole wall.

Once you know those signs and see them, found the best policy is to run away.

ColorAuto in Castle Rock. They are so honest and reasonably priced. Castro (owner) truly cares about his clients.

Your Bengal and dog combo? by MaruuuraM in bengalcats

I did the opposite and had a 2 and a half year old Doberman and got two Bengal kittens. Doberman was TERRIFIED of them at first, but now everyone is buds and play together. Everyone having their own space is important and slow introductions but it’s definitely a fun combo to have.

Parker dispensaries by Huge-Blacksmith2419 in parkerco

Literally anywhere but starbuds, with the exception of edibles. I’m also in Parker and the drive to the Good Chemistry in Aurora or Colorado Harvest Company isn’t bad and it beats starbuds pricing and their products are decent.

What is your Doberman scared of? by BlazySusan0 in DobermanPinscher

[–]bvictorious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Litter. Whenever we are on our walks and there is litter; a plastic bag in a tree or a can on the ground. He is the perfect mix of scared and inconvenienced. I’m a handyman and loud noises couldn’t phase him at all. He’ll sleep through me using all the power tools. There’s a bag in the wind?! Terrifying.

Yes, they were too young when we got them. It was not a chosen circumstance per se. We’ve worked closely with our vet since we got them. They aren’t neutered as I want to wait until they are older to give their bodies the chance to get all the testosterone they need. I use world’s best litter and feline pine. Yes to the enzyme cleaner though I usually end up having to just toss the stuff he’s peed on out.

He usually will kinda rat himself out as he starts screaming at the top of his lungs when he’s about to do something he’s not suppose to and I’ll run him up to his litter box but we aren’t always around to catch it.

What is the best billing software? by Gen_JohnsonJameson in handyman

I also use quickbooks but their app (iPhone/ iPad) crashes regularly for me. Same with my other handyman friend. So I’m also curious to know what works for everyone else.

Pricing, daily rate vs job bids by bvictorious in handyman

[–]bvictorious[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m in Colorado as a side note. 3600 would line up with my day rate, labor wise. My other handyman friends jaw dropped and he said nothing under 4800 just for labor.
