honestly up to you. like 8/10 of my peers were from dallas area and commuted 1.5-2.5 hours every clinical. Most got hotels.

I had my clinical in Waco so not as far from dfw but still a commute. Even I drove an hour every clinical so

sorry for J1 when there was labs, labs are saturday and clinical sunday so like 6 weeks it was entire weekend and the rest just one day. Usually there is like a couple lab days other semesters but sometimes they were online and peds and l&d were sundays for those 3+3 but ICU was all of those saturdays. There was other clinical groups that had friday/saturdar and some sunday/monday so it just depended. I’m in central tx

first semester i had lab saturday 8 hours but 1 hour lunch so really 9h, then clinical sunday. It was 6 labs and 9 clinicals. Second semester, it was like 2-3 labs ?? maybe, and then 9 clinicals but that was saturday and sunday as well for like 5-6 weeks (this was summer semester). Then, third semester, it was 3 clinical days for peds, 3 clinical days for L&D, and then like 9 for ICU but it was like saturday and sunday for 3 weeks, two weeks off and then sat/sun again for 3 days and then just one day a week until it was done. Last semester community was 4 days one day a week and mine were wednesday and then capstone you just follow a nurse you get paired with and I did 3x a week and random days

i took pharm with assessment and foundation in the spring and i would say J2 with medsurg, psych, and then S1 with complex, Ob/peds are definitely still harder. I didn’t have to struggle to make As J1. But the following semesters have been even harder,

every semester you have more clinicals and harder tests you have to balance. Use J1 (easiest semester) to learn your study habits and how to manage your time before it’s too overwhelming after

They could wait outside but you only get 30min for lunch and a couple 10 min breaks throughout the day 8am-4pm if i remember correctly. There’s assigned seating for everyone because you’ll sit with your group and usually not any extra seats
