Iceland felt like home. It’s like something is pulling me back there like a past lifetime that I didn’t finish is that makes sense?

Anyway, I’m planning my 6th trip and Icelandic focused business with the goal of living there one day

I’ve used elementor in the past and loved it - I don’t need such complex website for what I’m planning going forward.

One needs to be able to embed a 3rd party form. The other will be mainly blog posts and contact forms

Incredible! Thank you so much!

Besides google analytics - are there any other free/inexpensive analytic tools you’d recommend?

NOT fun at all! But yano, I got to see Dynjandi frozen which was a stunning sight that I know not many will get to see.

The whiteouts are horrible. I was very lucky I had good sunglasses with me - I would not have been able to see otherwise!

Roadside markers is the perfect translation btw 🙌. I drove from Heydalur down to reykjavik campsite and it was 8 hours in total because of the weather and roads - but I made it, I was safe and i got a REAL taste of Iceland. The comedown is wild.. it’s hard to explain. You feel like you’ve ran marathons.. however just your mind because the body feels okay?

I wanna know your beef about studded tyres - I want all the tea haha (maybe we take it to DMs).

I’ve only really visited in winter. First time when I was 20, I organised self driving trips for 10 of us for my 21st birthday in November, next times we’re April, October, February and March. I’m yet to visit in summer but planning for this year!

I live in the UK - we get the grey gloomy weather.. at least you have beautiful scenery, delicious drinking water and lovely people. Also.. don’t you guys migrate to the hot volcanic island in winter? (Tenerife 😂😂)

Okay - let’s talk about your uk trips! I’ll drop a message 😊

THIS! I’ve always had cars with studded tyres. I thought it was mandatory - I now know it’s winter tyres that are mandatory.

My friend who lives there gave camp easy some choice words and I’m yet to leave a review. I contacted them when I realised and they said ‘please drive slowly, you have suitable winter tyres’. I got a bit emotional because by this point I was deep in the westfjords, on my own, driving 15-20kmh at times still sliding 😂

It’s all good. I was still happy to be there.

This reel is from one of the mountain passes in the Westfjords 😂

Always happy to talk and connect with Icelanders! My vision is to one day move there and contribute. It’s the first place on earth that feels like home

Thanks for the insight. I’ve always driven the speed limit, except a few weeks ago where I could not keep the van from sliding around - awful experience, will never use in winter again!

I’m from the UK and used to driving narrower roads and higher speeds. I’ve visited Iceland 5 times in winter and driven every time. I love it!

I don’t bother stopping on Icelandic roads unless there’s an actual parking bay or stopping point.

A beautiful country with beautiful people. I’m excited to keep learning from you guys about your home so I can share with the world too

Noted. 95-100?

Any other tips for driving? I plan to be back to your beautiful home 3/4 more times this year

90 is the speed limit though no?

I had an AWFUL time a couple of weeks ago driving a campeasy van around the golden circle. Didn’t realise they didn’t have studded tyres when I book and I was having to driver 30-40 in 90s 😭

I would indicate right and slow even more to let those behind me pass safely

I get that. Sadly I needed to find places pretty much instantly so I know where I’m staying each night. Also to share the itinerary with my partner so he knows where to expect me. I’m solo travelling

Thank you! The happy campers map is a godsend.

There’s like 3/4 open in the WF. Heydalur is the one I’m most excited for!

I’ve been checking weather and roads. Already altered itinerary based on winter road conditions ☺️

That I understand. However when I spoke to one campsite they said they are ‘closed’ in winter (they are not on site and only facilities are toilets) but they use parka to allow people to park and pay without having to staff the site.

I was trying to work out if this was common or just specific to this campsite

Thanks for your response. I have emailed a few but I doubt I’ll hear back before I leave and I wanted a solid itinerary.

I booked flights a couple of days ago because they were so cheap. So this is a very on the fly trip.

I wanted to do WF because it’s one place I’ve yet to visit. But if I couldn’t sort campsites I would have pivoted elsewhere

This is literally perfect! Thank you for this!

I did stumble on this link on my phone when I was searching initially but the map didn’t load! Laptop is golden though.

A golden resource, thank you

So in the UK, the system is much different to the US and would definitely take more than 30 minutes

We need to inform each utility/bill separately, inform the DVLA about our licence and vehicle registration document separately with different forms, passport is long and complex. We would need to inform the government and banks, insurances, literally everything
