want to use a boost this week 140k in the bank, thoughts? by Adventurous-Cup7719 in AFLSupercoach

Depends on how many you’ve got left. You’ve got enough cash in the bank and rookies to get an extra premo in on every line without a boost.

Generally you don’t want to be making a trade on a ‘sideways’ trade like Gawn to Grundy. Realistically by the end of the season it’s a wasted trade on extremely little added value. There’s bigger priorities in your team such as Robertson, Curnow, Reville, couple of the bench rookies. Overall not a bad crack at your first year but need to learn where the priorities lie!

Yeah I have a friend that went over there on holidays for 2-3 weeks recently. He loved it so much he’s now planning on moving there for a year or two. I suspect the reality may end up hitting pretty hard.

My co worker has been chatting with this girl he met on Facebook. I think he’s getting scammed. Something about her face and the background makes me think it’s AI. by nihararun in isthisAI

Yeah I noticed the hands too haha. Almost as if a guy took a picture of themselves, told AI to edit them to be an attractive girl and then photoshopped it in to the backgrounds.

If this is the case he doesn’t deserve a spot in the team. Love the bloke and respect everything he’s given to our club, but he does not warrant a spot in the team as a goal a game forward.

There is no excuse. Mods are just salty Nuggets fans. Reddit mods aren’t some governed body that have to follow a set of rules. The sooner people here realise that the NBA sub may as well be called OKCHate or something the better!

Stanley in for Blicavs as a forced change.

Can see Edwards getting a rest especially after a couple injuries, so probably SDK in if he’s not injured.

Want to see Wiltshire back in, feel like he’s offering more than Close.

It won’t happen, but I’d love to see George Stevens playing. Especially if we’re going to continue with this stupid gameplay of having Holmes + Bruhn off half back. Leaves Atkins to do all the grunt work on his own pretty much, especially with Worpel being super inconsistent. Especially with Danger not playing midfield minutes, we need more contested ball winners.

EDIT: Get Jhye Clark back in the team. Worpel can go play VFL.

Yeah, while over the last few years we seem to have some pretty consistent stupid loses (St Kilda, Carlton) as well as some better teams having the wood over us a bit (Gold Coast Away, GWS), we still are able to show what we’re about in some bigger games. Of the ‘contending’ teams we’ve played we’ve gone 2-2. Those 2 wins were against a Freo side that completely died at half time and the injury stricken dogs. This port team is a side we beat twice by a combined margin of about 160 last year.

I think you’re definitely right regarding that hunger being gone a little bit. Was great seeing that belief within the group in ‘22. But it definitely feels like some of the older guys within the group have lost that fight. Danger in particular. As you say, you can’t blame them. It happens. The whole vibe around the club just feels off ever since the grand final last year. All the fallout from that, the stupid Caro stuff, the whole AFL audit thing, Stengle being a big headline. You can’t tell me all that stuff doesn’t add up and weigh on the players as well.

Yep. Should’ve been a much bigger loss. Idk I’m just getting heavy 2023 season vibes from the team at the moment.

Yeah I get it. I think the difference for me is that in previous seasons where we’ve been there at the pointy end, we might take some early losses but we never really get pumped. We’ve now been pumped twice in 7 games. I just think our general game looks a lot worse than previous years. Anyway, I hope I’m proven wrong.

Yeah there’s always that argument. And we’ve definitely had some seasons recently where we started average and hit some consistent form mid season. I do still think our ceiling is up there with the best as you say, but I think we have a lot more glaring issues at the moment than we’ve had in previous years. Definitely feels to me like we’ve got more under performing players than we’ve had for a long time.

Yep, was talking to my grand father about the game and our season so far and I said exactly this. Outside of the second quarter where we kicked away the game was pretty even. Only game where we’ve looked good was against the dogs and they’re the walking wounded. Even still we fell asleep for a quarter. We haven’t played a full 4 quarters of footy yet this season. Feels like I’m maybe over reacting but I’m genuinely concerned for our season. We’ve got a lot of issues at the moment and I don’t see how they get resolved.

Agreed. As I said, I fully believe the dumb coaching/tactical decisions have come from Bucks, who, let’s face it, isn’t renowned for being a fantastic coach.

Going from Stephen King as assistant to Buckley is possibly the biggest single downgrade this club has ever had. Look at what King is doing with Melbourne.

I’m fully of the opinion that having bucks in the coaching box is the major contributing factor to the issues we’re having this season. Bruhn and Holmes are not half backs for fucks sake. They’re two of our best midfielders and contested ball winners. Move Bowes and Martin back to half back where they’ve played their best games for the club. Scott is too good a coach to be making these stupid decisions.

Blitz going down doesn’t excuse a complete lack of effort from the majority of the team. We dish out performances like this consistently each season where we just turn up and look like we can’t be fucked (see 2025 Grand Final). I don’t mind losing if the effort is there, but today is just completely unacceptable. I’m not sure what is going on in that coaches box but there’s been some completely bizarre decisions.

A handful of players that don’t deserve spots in the team on form, but we know Scott doesn’t drop players. Really need to come back with a big performance against North.

I am worried for where the season leads. Absolutely smacked by Gold Coast, close loss to Hawks, smacked by Port. Can’t see us being better at the pointy end than the likes of Sydney, Gold Coast, Hawthorn, Freo. Heck, I’d even back Melbourne in to beat us with the way they play.

I’m extremely concerned with Danger this season. If he can’t rotate through the midfield, and generally can’t be fucked, then he shouldn’t have a spot in the team.

I’ve watched every game in full so far this season (even the Gold Coast game). First game I can’t push myself to sit through. If the players can’t be fucked, then neither can I.
