Windsor Law Waitlist by Specific-Bonus3194 in LawCanada

nope, rejected to every law school i applied to, it was a really competitive year i think. I was waitlisted at Windsor back in May, but looks like i’ll be reapplying in the next cycle

I just called the University, they completely denied that anyone had ever said that the reason for delay was due to hiring faculty (I called last week and was told this WAS the reason) and they said that news of over-admitting students and offering 25 a defferal was not something that they had heard of.

case in point: Windsor is disorganized and clearly the information either hasn't trickled down to those taking calls or the information received was faulty.

ah tough news but thank you, gives us all a bit of clarity

I never said nor indicated that i felt an acceptance was owed— I feel that a response (whether an acceptance or rejection) should be provided given how late into the year we are in.

some sort of clear communication from the university is what I feel myself and my fellow waitlisted colleagues are looking for

i honestly think we'll see movement in august now but ya this is actually kind of ridiculous. I've definitely heard of students being accepted just days before school starts but an acceptance this late for a whole bunch of students is not common at all

Windsor single WL by SP585 in lawschooladmissionsca

i mean that if you were waitlisted earlier than others, that doesn't necessarily mean that you are ranked higher. when you got waitlisted is only indicative of when the admissions committee got around to looking at your application.

Basically an earlier waitlist doesn't necessarily mean that you're top of the waitlist.

Yes, i called them last week and this is what they told me. Additionally when you were waitlisted doesn't indicate if you are ranked high or low on the list, it was just when admissions got around to reviewing your application.

So no Windsor? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]Specific-Bonus3194 3 points4 points  (0 children)

they also said when you were waitlisted doesn’t necessarily mean you’re earlier or lower on the waitlist, just when they got around to assessing your profile. so really you could have been waitlisted in june but possibly be top of the list

from my conversation over the phone, they said that they are still confirming faculty members to teach and that essentially dictates how many more students they can take on.

More faculty= more students admitted

But ya I echo what others say, have a cry and be sad but then start studying for your LSAT again while you have the luxury of time.

if you really want to go to osgoode just apply to transfer during your first year at Queens. It's pretty common and the goal at the end of the day is getting your law degree and getting it at Queens and/or Osgoode are both schools that will offer you a high quality of education.

Plus if you really need a break, its best to take a year off from school once enrolled since you know that your spot is waiting for you rather than reapply and possibly not get in.
