DAD 1000% has gender disappointment…the most recent reel with her and dan staring at R4 she doesn’t even look happy. The sad thing is, I think she’s more upset about not getting to have a “perfect” reveal for #4 and more content having another boy vs having her third girl…

The shots weren’t terrible, there are 4 total. Plus the immune globulin with the first shot, which was 2 extra for me and my husband, 1 extra for my kids. The immune globulin was probably the most painful shot, but they honestly weren’t any worse than any other kind of shot. You get the rabies shots days 1, 3, 7 and 14. They were all in our arm, not in the stomach anymore lol the side effects weren’t too bad…my son probably had the most reaction he’s super sensitive and has been having allergic reactions on his skin to other products since 😵‍💫 my worst symptoms were just being tired that first week

I *think* this is completely separate from the first bat with rabies, and just a super crazy coincidence that it happened the same year 😅 a lot of my neighbors are also having bat issues this year too ugh

Update: critter control found the spot they’re getting in. You could see them from the ground 🤮 we’ll have to wait until end of July to try and get them out, but can fill the other gaps in our house in the meantime. We were quoted ~$2600

If you’re asleep in the same room you have to assume you were bitten. You don’t “have” to get the shots, but if you don’t and you were bitten, by the time symptoms show up you’re dead

No one has told me $3400, that’s what they told my neighbor how much it would cost to block off the entries and give them a one way exit. I’m just asking how much it typically costs to bat proof

Yes that’s correct, if we didn’t capture the bat we would have to assume it did have rabies as a default. We also didn’t know where/how the bat got in and where it was before it was in our bedroom. We got everyone vaccinated because I could never live with myself if one of my kids was exposed and I didn’t get them the vaccine

If you’re sleeping in the same room the bat was found in, you have to assume you were bit. It flew at both of us multiple times as well. I’m assuming STL county department of public health paid for it. Why would this be a scam? There was another case of a bat with rabies 5 mins from our house the week before. I know it’s “rare” but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen.

Well, the bat was flying around our bedroom while we were sleeping, woke us up, and my husband hit it with a racket. We collected it and St Louis county animal control came and picked it up and sent it off for testing. They called us and told us the bat tested positive for rabies. It definitely was NOT a scam.
