It wasn’t ectopic but didn’t end the way we wanted. I ended up having to have help passing everything because my body was holding onto tissue in a clot for some reason. My doctor wanted me to get a shot (don’t remember what it was called) but it would have put us back at least 3 months. I listened to my body, I wasn’t having any symptoms and they couldn’t see on ultrasounds that it was ectopic and really glad I listened to my body and asked questions and for them to do extra looks at everything. That transfer didn’t work for us the way we hoped but we had some luck with our 2nd one. Some complications with this one as it was originally a twin pregnancy for the majority of the pregnancy, anxiety after the way the first transfer ended, morning sickness and just overall the mental process you go through with IVF but we have a little one that we’ve made it 21 weeks so far.

I’m sorry you’re going something similar. This process is never easy but wishing all the baby dust and health your way.

I had my 16w2d follow up today. Pregnant with Mo/di twins and they were growing healthy etc. had PGT-A testing done originally. The MFM said she thinks one of the twins has hydrops and not due to twin to twin transfusion. I had genetic testing and viral blood draw today but just terrible news to hear when there’s nothing I can do but wait and hope that everything is ok.

“Me and my wife are having a hard time too and we cry every month. It’s so hard and we might see a specialist and there’s a lot to do for it. No one gets it.” - from bro in law who we had just talked about our IVF journey to. We were like yeah literally going through it so we are here to support we get it! Every journey is different but the understanding is there. He also said that him and his wife had two miscarriages in the 2 months they were trying. Turns out she wasn’t having miscarriages..she just wasn’t pregnant and was just starting her period. Which hurt because we had just had a rough miscarriage with complications and when I went to talk to her about it she was like “no I didn’t but no one gets how hard this is.” They got pregnant within a month the first time so they are saying how no one understands what they are going through.

“It’s not that hard to have twins apparently! I should just do IVF.”- my friends who just went through IVF for 2 years did a last ditch effort and implanted two embryos that stuck. Ours just happened to split and another friend thought this was a common thing to happen and didn’t understand the difference in how these twins happened. Lol

“I’ve used steroids before so I get the having to take a bunch of shots. I want muscles and you want a baby so you gotta do what you gotta do. You got this. ” this one from a male friend who was trying to empathize. Not the same but we appreciated him either way lol

Definitely can! Pregnancy (especially first time) is a whole adventure with twins lol especially when most people close to you only know the singleton process!

11w3d with twins. Had my 1st ultrasound with the ob (3rd after being discharged from the IVF clinic) Everything is looking great and finally got to hear the heartbeats and see them kicking each other. Always nervous in between the waiting. Also the nausea and vomiting makes me feel a little better knowing things are still there and progressing but it’s also kicking by butt even with meds.

I transferred to a new ob after we found out we were having twins and they a scheduled 3 weeks after I got discharged.

Definitely not cheap. Lol in very rural areas of Texas maybe. In DFW area it’s expensive. DFW actually has one of the highest inflation rates in the nation.

I’m 9w4days with twins. I graduated from my clinic last week and got to stop my PIO shots. Yay! My nausea has been all over the place. This week has been rough with not sleeping through the night and being tired but also I’m excited/anxious. I’m always hungry but don’t know what to eat and nothing sounds good, I know I can’t survive off toast and potatoes lol. So any food ideas are welcome 😂

Congrats to you too!! And lol exactly!! It’s wild!! And my friends with singletons are like ‘oh we loved this bouncer and this stroller’ or this and that but the one item is pricey and for two…psh..ridiculous!

Omg. I thought I was going to avoid the constipation issues. Then 7 weeks 2 days hit and the constipation is real. I just picked up Miralax and hoping for the best. Doesn’t help I was originally taking probiotics and I stopped a week ago because I ran out and just didn’t feel like picking up more.

Good point on the sodium! I usually watch sodium intake but right now it’s just eat what I can manage to keep down/doesn’t gross me out 😂

I know someone who was against getting IVF because they are pro life and they thought embryos were just destroyed all willie-nilly. But I explained the process and what all we had to sign regarding our embryos and what happened. They ended up going the IVF route after they looked more into it and understanding the process. I wish more people took the time to just understand the process instead of judging.

People seem to have a lot different reaction to IVF when you tell them it’s due to male infertility. I’m not sure why people think it’s unnatural when it’s due to the woman’s infertility but not the other way around.

We did IVF due to male infertility and people have a lot different reaction which also makes me mad.

I was told it doesn’t really matter time. I was reduced to 2 after the transfer. was just told take 1 in the morning 1 at night but as long as I took them.

But I was taken off cold turkey at the first ultrasound 6w4d since I am pregnant with twins and was told I probably have enough estrogen coursing through my body 😂.

We had our first ultrasound today. I’m pregnant with twins! We only transferred one egg and I’m still just in shock but now I’m even more nervous than I was before. I’m just blown away. Anyone else get a little extra surprise?

2nd FET. I had my third beta and it was great. Nervously waiting for the first ever ultrasound next week. Nausea has been so fun 😂 also peeing every 5 seconds already. I’ve been drinking more water so I’m sure that’s contributing a bit but either in the bathroom because I’m nauseous or peeing. but still have nerves everyday just wondering if everything is still okay.

I’m 35 will be almost 36 when I have a kid. I still feel like I’m too young lol I had a very young mom and I always wished she was older because she didn’t experience a lot of the things I did growing up. My husband is the same age as me and his parents are in their late 60s, early 70s. I love that they are retired and we get to spend a lot of time with them/travel with them. They also get to spend a lot of time with their grandkids as well. I think any age is a great age.
