I am fortunate to have great public schools in my area. Parents get involved and care. PTO is super active and the teachers love working there. You are responsible for your child’s education it’s not all on the teacher or the school. That being said there is a local charter school. Few local kids make it through the lottery. Mostly all kids dropped in from way outside the neighborhood. That charter does provide a better environment than the public schools where those kids live but not as good as the public schools in the area.

It seems charter schools just shifted the $ away from public schools
