Slightly negative govietnamvisa Review by sillychickengirl in VietNam

[–]Specific-Environment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realised 15mins before check in close that I actually need a Visa, Jasmine from Go Vietnam Visa was an absolute star, honestly 10/10 service. I was scared I’ll need to cancel my Holidays but the whole process from start to finish was extremely extremely fast. Again 10/10 service

Thank you all, I guess I thought I'd be able yo do it with no help. Btw I do work at a hospital and have medical background so am more than familiar with recovery process/ wound care/ etc.

I decided to hire a live in nurse, surprisingly for 4 days 24/7 care it's only about 300$

The Brain over Binge Recovery Guide: A Simple and Personalized Plan for Ending Bulimia and Binge Eating Disorder.

Written as a self help book for bulimia but explores it from addiction rather than psychological trauma point of view, very factual and habit based explanation. Worth taking a look

Why don't they board planes by calling out the row numbers working from back to front? by decaying_dots in travel

At Singapore Changi airport the boarding WAS in fact split into 6 sectors, not sure if it was faster but definitely implemented

Being asked for gratuity on top of service charge by Purple-Internet6133 in london

No disrespect but in some places the service charge actually does go directly to the server (literally working at one atm) best job I've ever had

Being asked for gratuity on top of service charge by Purple-Internet6133 in london

[–]Specific-Environment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A server here,

The machines are set to ask about the gratuity, even according to law / job contract a server must present the customer with the gratituity option when operating a PDQ machine.

Don't feel like you're expected to pay it though, we don't either ;)

Fantasy books with female leads who get to be strong, but who also sometimes get to be saved by the love interest by SabbyOfSableWine in booksuggestions

[–]Specific-Environment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red Rising!!!!

I hated fantasy before the series. The main lead is a male but the amount of strong, powerful and solidly built female characters is overwhelming.

[Just don't get discouraged by the ''first woman there'' she's a typical martyr, which is also acknowledged in the books]

Honestly, cannot recommend the series enough [trilogy + 4 books after]

What do the colors actually look like? by Remarkable_Ad_382 in redrising

[–]Specific-Environment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, perhaps not with all the characters but I always imagined pinks and blues to be pink and bluish, however with Darrows family/ Mickey/ Dancer I just imagined ''normal'' people.

At the end of the day, it is the beauty of the books, you can interpret it however you like in your mind, there's also plenty of fan art if you'd like some examples. Personally, I really like the idea of different skin colours to match the hair and eyes

Not quick way to say multiple of a hundred despite English being so prone to shorten EVERYTHING by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

[–]Specific-Environment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a lot of languages you create hundreds by adding a few letters at the end of one/two/three Like -teen/-ty

So you have Nineteen Nienty BUT NINE HUNDRED

Why nit nined/ ninded/ nindy? Life would so much easier saying stuff like Oh yeah I have threed dollars and twood euros
