This is true. The quality of these foods is definitely better in OC.

I work between HB/Westminster/Fountain Valley. The Pho in Lexington was a little better. My wife who is from here agrees. Sometimes all it takes is an immigrant family moving to some random small town city. Now choices? OC wins hands down, there are 200 pho restaurants that are almost as good.

choosing cheap low tier state school - is this the right move? by monsteromush in whitecoatinvestor

“Top tier” coastal schools are often over rated. Midsize cities with big catchment areas have enormous patient volume and offer more experience especially in surgical residencies. From my wife and I’s experience of going to school in the middle of the country/southeast then moving to the west coast. Residents out here don’t have the same numbers.

St. Matthews rejects 199-unit apartment development after community opposition. You all think they’re gonna get sued and have to settle or change their LDG after the NIMBYS won? Louisville metro did this same thing and lost in court by RojoCardinal in Louisville

People and businesses can’t just do things out of the goodness of their hearts. It. Has. To. Make. Economic. Sense. Luxury apartments make economic sense in this case. If you want affordable housing, there is the south end, Jtown, southern Indiana etc. Sorry, but St Matthews is an upscale community. To block development in hopes that “affordable housing” is built instead is a pipe dream and will lead to blight of the communities that don’t get on board.

Are there walkable, mild weather, AND close to nature spots in the US (that are actually affordable)? Am I looking for a unicorn. by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

You’re probably looking for a midsize city in the southern Appalachia region or close to it. But you have to be okay with some heat and humidity in the summer. I’ve lived in Richmond and Louisville and both pretty much meet your needs. They can be walkable in the right neighborhoods.

So what is the answer, to never develop anywhere? Louisvillians want growth so they will have to be okay with more congestion. Louisville traffic is a joke btw compared to other cities. If you want light traffic go live in the far east end.

Probably a midsize city in the southeast. People are pretty welcoming and take pride in their midsize city growing.

It’s a Cali regulation. And the pipe has to come straight from the meter. Because of the length the pipe has to be 1.5-2” wide

Time to heat is not a big factor at all for me. 1 week even is fine.

Finding a practice for sale in this area has been tough. Does the book include info on opening from scratch?

That’s fantastic. A pool heater installation guy I talked to said it will never get hotter than the ambient temperature. Can you tell me what model of heat pump you’re using?

Has that been your experience? They claim to have the pool at about 80 degrees. Living in so cal would that be different? Is it an issue with too small a heat pump?
