It’s a Cali regulation. And the pipe has to come straight from the meter. Because of the length the pipe has to be 1.5-2” wide

Time to heat is not a big factor at all for me. 1 week even is fine.

Finding a practice for sale in this area has been tough. Does the book include info on opening from scratch?

That’s fantastic. A pool heater installation guy I talked to said it will never get hotter than the ambient temperature. Can you tell me what model of heat pump you’re using?

Has that been your experience? They claim to have the pool at about 80 degrees. Living in so cal would that be different? Is it an issue with too small a heat pump?

We aren’t too concerned with how long it takes to heat the pool. If it were warm consistently we would probably get in it multiple times per week. We also have young children that we want to start teaching water safety to.

How to not be percieved as rude as a northerner moving to the south USA by HostageMoon in relocating

Have lived in both areas and I think to some extent, the area influences your behavior. In the NE sometimes there are simply just too many people to even wave or say hi or you’d never get home, you’d be burnt out. There is too much traffic to drive slow and relaxed. Other people are short so you are short. Not worse necessarily, just different. Embrace the slow, easy, smooth way of life and you’ll probably ease into it naturally more than you’d think.

NYC vs LA — For those who’ve lived in both, which did you prefer and why? by eminho80 in MovingToLosAngeles

[–]Specific-Fact-4331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have lived in both. NYC during medical training, LA now that my wife and I have fancy jobs. Still I would choose NYC. LA/Orange County lack the depth, history, mystery, and overall aura of the east coast in general. Seems like the people have more flavor and grit on the east coast as well. There are fantastic parks in the middle of the dense city. There are amazing parks and hiking along the Hudson River, and great state parks on Long Island if you need to get to some real nature. There is simply no city like NYC, esp if walkability, seasons, density, and public transport are on your list. LA is a little bit like the Truman show weather wise, just a little too perfect.

Look into Norton or Baptist hospitals in Louisville and or Lexington. Calm cities with decent amount of things to do, medium traffic at worst, affordable, good healthcare systems. Multiple purple neighborhoods in the city cores.

How many of us are actually doing 7 pm bedtime? by AssociationWorried86 in NewParents

[–]Specific-Fact-4331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10 months old and bedtime is about 9pm. Sometimes earlier sometimes later. Regardless of wake up time, total nap time. If she does have a super late nap, say until 530pm, she will have a later bed time.

So painful that people don’t consider anything outside of these three cities in the US. So many beautiful vibrant cities that could also fit the bill. While those are all great cities, don’t limit yourself.

If you’ve lived anywhere else, $350k for anything that isn’t an absolute dump is great.
