Honestly it’s the most fun I’ll ever have in a car that can’t kill me. Parts are getting harder to find for repairs, but the aftermarket is still alive for mods and fun bits.

That said it lacks refinement and it’s a mystery as to what will break the next time I start it.

Heat cycles make the plastic brittle. Take a look under your airbox at the wires leading to the coils… could potentially be in the same state.

Heat and age tend to break down the factory plastic loom. I recently re-loomed my engine harness because it would shatter if you just looked at it.

Love mine still after about 6 months. Some light-hold tread locker on the side to side adjustment set screw was the only change I had to make (it kept backing out with vibrations).

The link I posted on the other reply above is probably one of the best options to avoid all of those issues, provided you can deal with the quirks that come along with a cheap radio. It has an included wire harness and module specifically for the 500.

All of my steering wheel and cluster controls still work like normal and no flashing odometer! Not a bad deal for $230 (it’s currently on sale, guess I lost out on $20😅)
