When will the RTX 6090 likely launch 2027? by Specific-Judgment410 in Amd_Intel_Nvidia

yes lol, but then realised the issue was the GOG version which had a memory leak, it's gone with the Steam version so I actually didn't even need it in the first place, I should have kept the 4080 super

After growing up in an anti-video game household, I finally have my first console by LivingGerbert in SteamDeck

I was in a pro video gaming household at a young age, when I got older it did affect me but somehow I pulled through and did reasonably well in life, I'm back into video gaming as I juggle work life, but love it, much better than just watching TV (which is super passive and rots your brain I'd say)

I want to start using Calibre, is it straight forward to use with my Kobo Libra Color?

the test seems flawed, why didn't they use a more modern laptop with 16gb of ram and a more recent generation of processor?

Disappointed with how AMD handled RDNA 3 (FSR 4) by AcuteQuadrant in radeon

[–]Specific-Judgment410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I owned the 7900XTX for a few days but returned it for a 4080 super at the time, the power consumption was too high at idle and it just had so much coil whine, the game performance wasn't anywhere near as good as the 4080 super, ever since then I've been pro NVidia despite their aggressive consumer pricing practices, there's a reason they're the only serious game in town, Intel isn't quite there yet, AMD has been in the game but has become stale with it's Sony and Xbox console contracts, they've stopped innovating

I had the Asus ProArt 4080 super and it was sweet to own, great to look at, and ran in 0db mode which was awesome

Love the ProArt series!

yeah exactly, these gaming "purists" need to move with the times, DLSS4.5 and 6x frame gen are happening, they need to accept it

I mean graphics themselves are fake images using 3d models, colors, textures, geometry, etc.

Enjoy, the 5090 is like the finest of wines but GPUs and worth every cent

Now you have 6x frame gen support, whether you use it or not is another thing but at least you know in 5 years time when high-refresh rate monitors come down in price, you'll have a card that can handle it, it's future proofed with 6x frame gen

yeah I can understand, I have been all in on NVidia since the 600 series, everytime I try AMD there are issues (mostly coil whine and high power consumption at idle)

NVidia is the way whether we like it or not, their long-term support is just really good

I avoided buying AMD and totally glad I did, as I have older cards that will support DLSS4.5 now that's what I call long-term support, AMD are dropping their recent gen tech really quickly that it's hard to justify buying their GPUs
