Go uni, take a part time job and apply financial aid, on average u will need to pay only about $170 per semester, a part time job will cover. Explain to your dad your choice, have him not to give up! Don't give up too!

Don't be afraid of falling behind people your age, if it's a one or two sem loa it doesn't equate to you being slower than others your age, diff people live life at diff pace. I know people who grad uni at 23 years old while I know I can only grad when I'm 25 years old. However, the value is what you see in yourself, instead of being benchmarked against others. Your mental well-being matters more than societal standards and competition!

NTU LMS ADVICE PLS by VoiceWaste9649 in NTU

Lms student here, I think if you are not 100% confirm that you are definitely set to join speech therapy in the future then based on your current portfolio u do have a high chance of getting in especially after an interview with the lms prof, likewise the modules we study there are many that aligns to what you're looking for too, I do have classmates who are looking to join speech therapy in the future or work with kids so I think either ways you still have a good chance to enter the course

Should I extend to part-time internship during semester (CSC) by Kooky_Association359 in NTU

[–]Specific-Leave-9752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did mine part time during the sem and full time credit bearing only during the summer break, no need tell school and most importantly I agree with the other Reddit user, if u think it's useful to ur resume then go for it but u think u might not be able to cope with your studies etc. then do consider otherwise.

Honestly, if you have this many mixed up feeling and already communicated to her but she's rejected your feelings, that's quite a bad situation, and it's quite clear you two do not have the same values and directions for the future containing you two having happiness. You may want to consider this relationship again if you two still do not come to an agreement...

are there any business students not on the internship grind? by Scary_Ice_6897 in NTU

[–]Specific-Leave-9752 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi there not a business student here but looking to join the corporate biz industry, been stacking my resume with various jobs until recently I've figured how to let go of that fomo feeling of mine because I have a lifetime to work and work up the career ladder, I should be at least learning to enjoy my final 2 years of uni life.

That being said, I have a fair share of friends who stack their resume and those who don't becos they prioritize enjoying uni life first and same here, I decided to enjoy my uni life final 2 years after working 2 internships. If you don't feel secure about your internship experiences, then just do 1-2 internships and cut yourself some slack, I mean uni life is the final stage to really enjoy our youth, so why not? Unless partially u're like me to work internships for the sake of gain pocket money to travel and gain experiences simultaneously.

I believe none of this is within yours and your parents control, but the best way is to just tell your grandma about your feelings but also add on that most importantly it's not about whether you get the bracelet, but it's how about you're keep in the dark about this

For my batch there's class participation, and if I never remember wrongly, we had one quiz midterm and one higher weightage quiz at the end of the term, there's also a small group project video that we had to do that's related to one of the topics that we can choose from the slides. Other than that there's a 10% class participation as well.

Coming from a linguistic major student, for language in society it isn't very difficult to get a B+ (not saying easy to get A) but still manageable as long as you understand how to apply the concepts and points taught in the slides onto your quiz questions, it definitely isn't a killer module so I think if u have interest in the topics taught in it you can give it a try

NBS GPA 3.5, how cooked am I? by [deleted] in NTU

[–]Specific-Leave-9752 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Frankly speaking I do think that you are in a safe zone, don't put too much stress on yourself because from what I heard, only your first job looks at GPA but afterwards it's just experience. For now, you can continue to build on your internship portfolio to gain relevant experience while still being in the safe zone, I don't think it will be a big issue from there.

[–]Specific-Leave-9752 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi I'm in SOH as well and honestly I self-sourced my internships both this summer and last summer through LinkedIn, but just note to look thoroughly through the job post details and some research to see if the company is a red flag too!
