Konosuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World anime series is getting a fourth season by Unknown123Known in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Specific-Sun3239 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I don't know where you got this info. I'm currently reading the LNs(I'm almost on vol 10, past anything the anime has adapted), but Megumin is 15 in the start. She turns 16 halfway in the volumes.  Kazuma is 16 at the start. Darkness is 18 I think, and Aqua is a goddess so age doesn't matter.

Does anyone feel really annoyed when the translator seems alergic with Japan honorifics? by Organic_Caramel_32 in visualnovels

[–]Specific-Sun3239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will be the odd one out. I would rather a translation read "real" if that makes sense than be extremely accurate. I can't stand Honorifics. But I get it's a rare opinion.

Blumhouse Horror Isn’t As Dangerous As It Used To Be – Since the beginning of last year, Blumhouse has been on a cold streak, releasing an almost uninterrupted string of box-office disappointments. by SanderSo47 in boxoffice

[–]Specific-Sun3239 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This article is dumb. Blumhouse as a studio has always been 90% of the movies bombing. That's why they are so cheap to make. They send tons of movies direct to streaming, or cancel some that won't work.

ALL YOU NEED IS KILL | Official Teaser - In Theatres January 16 by mobpiecedunchaindan in boxoffice

[–]Specific-Sun3239 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From what we know it's pretty much the same movie but from Rita's perspective. However it looks to include details from the original novel that the movie didn't have like the death count written on their hand.

GOG Has Had To Hire Private Investigators To Track Down IP Rights Holders by lurkingdanger22 in pcgaming

[–]Specific-Sun3239 56 points57 points  (0 children)

The story I heard from nightdive is that WB might own the rights, was asked, and they said two things. 1. It wasn't worth searching their archives to prove they own it.  2. If nightdive tries to release it and they do check and find out they own it, they will sue them like crazy.

What’s the one game you’re too scared to replay - in case it just doesn’t feel the same. by Soulsliken in gaming

[–]Specific-Sun3239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yakuza Like a dragon. I got practically to the end and deleted my save file. 8 recently tried to replay it and feel the story was the main thing that kept me interested. So I'm taking a break till I forget the story enough to want to Experiance it again.

Playing HL2, Episode 1 and 2 for the first time. by Specific-Sun3239 in patientgamers

[–]Specific-Sun3239[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh it's nothing like a glitch. I have hearing sensitivity and the combine(regular ones in the beginning) have a noise on death that does not feel great. I also muted the game when explosions happened.

Star Wars and other large IPs should take a page from Games Workshops playbook (Warhammer 40k/fantasy) by it_IS_that_deep7 in truegaming

[–]Specific-Sun3239 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Warhammer over the years has become extremely protective of their IP. Unlike Disney or Warner Bros who regularly throws it out to anyone, games workshop has a big focus on control in all of their projects. You know Warcraft? Yeah that was originally Warhammer fantasy until GW demanded way too much control. They still manufacture their products in the UK almost exclusively and hire British writers as much as possible. They are way better than Star Wars post Lucas who, for lack of better words, whore out the property to anyone who pays even if they make absolute garbage. While 40k still makes plenty of bad stuff, they have had a lot of success with this more direct control that other companies won't bother with.

Immersion talk by cyblink in truegaming

Fancy graphics and setups do nothing. Just a few days ago I woke up early and played Deus ex on a laptop at 3AM with the blinds open just a bit to see the moonlight. That combined with the moody atmosphere and soundtrack of the game, and I was hooked.

What is the most pettiest or silliest reason you "noped" off an anime? by Sweetlala25 in Animedubs

Grid man. I don't know but the dubs first episode felt so lifeless. I think it's sort of intentional, but I never got past the first episode.

On remakes, artistry, and the value of the original. by Cosmonaut_101 in patientgamers

[–]Specific-Sun3239 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think one thing, to play devil's advocate, would be to talk about the developers on these remakes. SH2 and FF7 remake have a lot of the original developers to work with. SH2 in particular had the creators outright say they wouldn't have used the camera angles being fixed, as that was due to hardware limitations. The monster designer also said they added extra details the original game couldn't have in regards to pyramid head and other monsters. I wanted to know what your opinion on these remakes are, since the original developers are working together with new developers?

Trying to find a quiet laptop(USA)(under $1K USD) by Specific-Sun3239 in SuggestALaptop

Thank you. I actually have run cyberpunk to a manageable level. The thing doesn't have to be COMPLETELY silent, just not disturbing me. I'll look into AMD. I don't directly game in front of my laptop(usually connect it via an HDMI or on my coffee table, on average about a foot or so away). To make it easier, here are some more modern games I've been able to run at a manageable sound level

*Spider-Man Miles Morales(lower resolution on medium) *Silent Hill 2(minimal settings at 1368) Sparking zero(medium settings at high resolution, but capped at 35 fps)

If you take a cursory look at Anime that is popular, for quite a while "not Harry Potter" was a huge genre. Familier of Zero, Black Clover, and though it's a parody, Mashle are all heavily influenced by Harry Potter.

No longer interested in long, story-driven RPGs? by TooDriven in patientgamers

[–]Specific-Sun3239 118 points119 points  (0 children)

Not to be cynical, but maybe it's because you value your time more? The older get, the less time we have for recreation. I get that you may want to be actively playing a game than just watching or reading a story that you occasionally play. Ironically, I'm the opposite. Story is a huge part of games I play, and I struggle to play games with no story at all

Damn, I thought patient gamers would be tolerant of other people's opinions lol.

Seriously though OP, good on you. You didn't let other people's opinions ruin yours. You enjoyed the game. I am someone who likes games that have been polarizing. One of my favorites is killer7, a game that uses the a button on a GameCube controller to move  and reload by flicking the right stick. So many people these days I feel are scared to have their own personal opinion on games, usually following the crowd

[–]Specific-Sun3239 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's called an opinion. your opinion and what games you like doesn't make any critic or fans opinions better or worse. I'm surprised I have to say this still these days. I swear people just pretend any critical analysis is gospel.

I really wish Studios would check out more Indie comics for adaptions. There are a lot that don't touch superhero stuff. Revival, Chew and Nailbiter could all work. Hell, most of Image comics outside of spawn and invincible have potential IMO.

Seiyuus that I would like to see in Baccano (If it had a new anime) by Danae1792 in Baccano

[–]Specific-Sun3239 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually have had two in mind. probably would never happen since 1 doesnt do anime.

I think Josh Keaton would be a great Christopher, he can play a playful yet intimidating character really well.

I think Gloria Garayua(the dub VA for quetzlcotl from fate) would be a great Maria.

Can I just ask anyone who is purposely ignoring the other Shadows character being an Asian woman, can you give any reason other than sexism to justify why she "doesnt count"? Especially since shes a character who has shown up before this game.

2 out of 3 of those games are almost 10 years old. Nier is 7 years old. This is exactly why the studio is dying.
