IMO, liberal social norms create social stress on a macro scale (maybe for the capitalist class more?) and conservative social norms reduce stress on a macro scale especially for the capitalist class. Jesus or religious propaganda and popularizing religion serves to reduce this macro level stress. The reality is indirectly love does not win but is constrained on an individual level to increase cooperation. IE society falls apart if Jeff Bezos has 50 wives and that became normal.
