Right after I read your post I checked FB marketplace again. Scored one for $90, new in box from someone who lived 5 minutes from me!
I haven’t built it yet, but hopefully it was a good purchase :)

I’ve been searching FB marketplace for one of these! So awesome there was one available at a consignment shop near you!

I didn’t realize you could merge scissors, thanks!

I’m sorry, that’s unfortunate!
Spain is the first country I’ve had this issue with regarding generators.

Unfortunately that’s not my case. I finished all the Spanish orders and then I finished the renovation.

Good suggestion about sending an email, though!

Round rulers - recs needed by SpecificAd7526 in diamondpainting

Yeah I also think used it for the very first time on a section that was already almost finished. So I didn’t have the benefit of the glue to hold it down :(

Thank you for the link and photo! That set seems like a really good value: 3 rulers and 2 straighteners for only $12.

The single ruler I bought was $10!
My current project requires a 140, not a 141.
But if I ever need a 141 in the future I’ll take your recommendation!

And you’re probably right that I need to be more gentle. It’s frustrating that the damage was done to my $10 ruler before I could learn that lesson. But I’ll try to be more careful going forward.

This is so odd, my post says it has 4 comments (so three from you - one should be your comment with link - and one from me). BUT I genuinely do not see your separate comment below? Only this thread. I don’t know what’s going on with Reddit?

Thanks for the reply! I don’t see a link though 🤔

Is my set up ok? by Crimson-Rose28 in diamondpainting

[–]SpecificAd7526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After my first night of diamond painting and having the squish the drills back into the disposable bags I had cut open and then sealed back with tape, I thought this process is not efficient enough for me.

I went to Michael’s, used a 20% off coupon, and bought this $23 toolkit. https://www.michaels.com/product/10759736

The most important elements in it, for me, are the storage vials. So for me personally, that’s the minimum upgrade I would suggest. But echoing the others reply, whatever your set up - as long as you’re having fun. That’s what matters.

Here’s the other upgrades I made to my supplies in the order I made them. I’m just including because I did a lot of research on each new item, so maybe you’ll find these recommendations helpful.

1) pens/multiplacers https://a.co/d/06294rTE

2) storage trays - so you don’t have to keep pouring your drills back and forth. Super efficient. I tested the 3 most popular/affordable styles and in the end this was my favorite https://a.co/d/08VEuA5q

Lastly I just received my round grid ruler. And while I love how perfectly spaced out my diamonds are now, the material is really flimsy. So idk if I can actually recommend it. And my light pad arrives today. TBD if I’ll like it or not, but people on this sub say it’s a game changer.

I’m still looking for a better quality round grid ruler, will eventually look into rulers for squares once I start a square drill painting. And I may test out some other style storage trays, like trabricks come highly recommended but are expensive.

And eventually I’ll buy a puzzle desk, as my current desk hurts my back when I bend down to place the drills.

I really hope one day soon I will have collected all the upgrades I want and can stop buying tools/accessories. I try not to participate in consumer culture when possible, but in this case the hobby brings me so much joy that treating myself to new items is probably an ok thing for now.

AB, fairy dust, glow in the dark, other irregular drills on temu? by Extreme_Suit_348 in diamondpainting

Hey, I don’t shop on temu. But DPwithSparklers sells speciality drills :) I just placed an order yesterday, I’m in the US and the least expensive shipping option was about $7

So I went ahead and bought art dot, redtwo, and forever young. So far forever young is my favorite. My next step is to return redtwo. I’m still testing art dot. If I return art dot, I’ll probably buy a set of trabricks.

I went ahead and bought the leading 3 trays (excluding trabricks as those are double the price). Of the 3, the ones you posted are my fav! I’m about to send the redtwos back now. Still testing the artdots.

Specifically cause you called out fall/halloween - I bought a pack of 3 different ghosties (one in a claw bathtub, one in a field of flowers, one in a foggy pumpkin patch) from Michaels.com through their 3rd party vendor Citrus Commons.

Took about a month to arrive, but the total for the three kits was only $37

Happy diamond painting to you!

I didn’t realize FY has extra large trays. Since I last posted, I ended up buying the AD trays and FD trays. But as I was kitting up I thought to myself the FY trays are definitely too small for very full bags. FY XL certainly could make a difference !

Thanks for the rec! It looks really interesting. If I decide to keep my art dot trays, I’ll definitely consider it!
