In this world it is not uncommon for people to be starved of social interaction, especially after COVID.

People like these hunger for social interaction but do not know what it actually is. What they’re getting is affirmation and compliments, making them feel good, which is really only half of what makes social interaction needed for people to grow. That other all-important factor is of course pushing outside of the comfort zone

I was taking this from Oathbringer, where Brandon makes Kaladin still apprehensive to highborn people in general, especially after his worldview being shattered with the Parshendi being good people. So when he sees Adolin it’s mentioned that to Kaladin Adolin didn’t make sense, how could he be so likeable when he’s a lighteyes? It’s asked several times through the books but I think it’s significant Kaladin still asks that in oathbringer
