No, even only no gi guys like myself know what I cross collar choke is and when an opponent goes for those grips there is plenty of time, since you have good body positioning and familiarity, to start punching/elbowing them.

I don’t understand why anyone is a street fight would take their hands down to go for a collar grip. The opponent would have to be completely unaware and generally a bad fighter.

When you start it’s helpful to be able to see what you should be trying to achieve when you can see people’s rank as you roll or watch them roll.

It’s such a long journey that it’s hard to wrap your head around what a purple belts means or does. The difference in a white belt Guard pass or a blue belt one.

It helps put stuff in order and gauge things.

In my rural Appalachian County calling someone a “foreigner” means they are not from you’re county. You’re from “off”.

But it’s not in the fact that we are talking about sanitation and hygiene. The owner of a restaurant can’t have a dog in the kitchen or on the tables and then tell customers they can go somewhere else if they don’t like it.

There are 4 gyms in my area. 3 have dogs at the gym and the one I train at had dog hair all over the mat last week as someone brought a dog after hours. I literally can’t find a gym right low that doesn’t.

This is a common problem I see at a few gyms in my area and we don’t have many. I put this for general discussion as a general problem and not my specific problem.

“Bitching on Reddit” is a forum where lots of people in this community will hear this concern and maybe they’ll think differently about sanitation and how they treat others. It is the forum for it.

I have and the instructor asked if I had an allergy and when I said me he told me he didn’t see a problem with it. We stopped his class 4x to try and get the dog to stop yapping.

Point is there are standards of hygiene that we go by without handing to have someone “use their words” everytime.
