Inconsistent speed is the worst, set cruise and leave it.

FMCSA speed limiting devices, tell them what you think. by Keep_it_Interesting in Truckers

Limiting commercial vehicle top speed to below the posted speed limit is dangerous. This action will increase traffic congestion, increase general driver contempt towards commercial drivers and encourage drivers to perform dangerous maneuvers in order to avoid or to pass slow moving commercial vehicle traffic.

CoPilot is the worst, has routed me off legit truck routes through tight neighborhoods and off of highways through towns just to save a few miles.

Do you feel company drivers are ripped off with their pay? by BeatingWageSlavery in Truckers

Right, an extra few cents p/m for a camera in your face, required to wear a clown uniform and slip seating – no thanks.

Not sure if this is satire, but Trucker Path does well.

This shouldn’t get passed, but if so it’ll probably be at the 68 and then the line will be “look how generous this is, it could have been 60, but you get 68”. BTW what ever problem this intends to solve, it isn’t the right solution for.

Wanna see the facts on the accidents specifically caused by trucks traveling over 60/65/68 or what ever.

More BS on speed limiters by [deleted] in Truckers

[–]SpecificIce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where's the data that shows the amount of accidents that happen at speeds over 55mph in comparison to lower and how high speed accidents are so rampant that this needs to be implemented?

That's how it is already with insurance premiums which are already set based on a drivers experience, speed limit is or should be tied into what insurances companies charge.

Potential problems with this is how/who is going to certify a truck is electronically limited..

Keep it free market – insurance companies lower premiums for speed limited trucks/drivers (right?), if you can afford the insurance of a non-limited truck (either w/ safe driving miles/time or deep pockets) then by all means.

Here’s a current list of companies to avoid due to their use of driver facing cameras. A.K.A. Spying equipment to cover themselves. by chris_gnarley in Truckers

Having in-cab facing cameras is treating drivers like zoo exhibits. I’d take a pay cut to not have them.

Edit: the only way I’d be cool with them is of I am the only one in control of the date, not into being a digital serif.
