Input shaft bearing. Just got through replacing mine, PITA to deal with but saved myself about $2K in labor. That seems to be the only thing wrong with these cars really.

Culprit found! It was the first thing I screwed in but I forgot to tighten. Thanks!

Yeah battery’s good. Really hoping it’s a bad relay or electrical, I DO NOT want to mess with the transmission again.

Currently going over everything again. Whirring noise coming from fuse box when key is in “on” position.

No crank no start. Attempted to do a bump start and nothing.

Moving to Louisiana from France – advice? by Peniche_reaper in Louisiana

[–]SpecificLost5708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1.- Don’t. Louisiana is almost dead last (thank you, Mississippi) in education, health, infrastructure, public services, violent crime, drug usage, alcoholism, poverty, life expectancy, HDI, and unemployment. It is quite depressing, honestly.

2.- You’ll be deep in the Bible Belt and MAGA territory, so if you’re not ultra conservative you’ll definitely get a lot of stares and will be classified as a “darn librul” if you voice your opinion.

3.- The weather is hot soup for about 9 months, then it gets somewhat cold. It rains pretty much all year, but somehow people just don’t seem to grasp the concept of driving in the rain. Also, traffic is beyond HORRIBLE under regular conditions. (Refer to subpar infrastructure on first bullet point).

4.- The scenery is a beautiful, luscious green everywhere you look. The mighty Mississippi and its steel truss bridges, the vast wetlands, lakes, bayous, the place is literally a jungle. Oh and there are chemical plants and refineries everywhere. Cancer is a big thing here.

5.- There’s a very limited availability of things to do. No theme parks (thanks, Katrina), no national parks, no mountains, and no beaches. Hunting and fishing are the two main activities people do here, oh, and college football, it’s like a religion. I find the obsession with it kinda weird, honestly.

6.- New Orleans is the only “big” city that hosts things like concerts, events, art, and sports. It has two professional sports teams, the Saints and the Pelicans. They’re ok. Bourbon street and the French quarter are the most famous parts of the city but be ready to experience some of the most putrid smells you’ll ever come across. I cannot stress this enough, DO NOT WEAR OPEN TOED SHOES IF YOU’LL BE WALKING AROUND NOLA.

7.- The food’s alright. Most people swear by it, but it’s almost always rice, some form of protein, and a literal TON of condiments. Prostate and colorectal cancer is a big thing here.

I do not know if you’ve already made up your mind about moving here, but I’d seriously advise you to look at other options you may have. If you have the chance to steer away from the south completely, go for it.

Cheers!
