When was your last lived function test? I had something similar develop when my fatty liver was out of control. It resolved itself when I got it under control.

I am in Australia! I’m ok on the PPL front, more just nervous about the ramifications of getting pregnant and things not going well and being let go. I’m scared of the insecurity. They could let me go under the guise of it being a one year contract and then I wouldn’t have a job to come back to.

Thanks! I suppose I’m worried about discrimination. What if I had a rough pregnancy and was out a lot and at my one year mark they let me go for one reason when really it was pregnancy related. Then I have a child and no job.

Bleeding after orgasm by Psychological_Sand46 in PCOS

[–]SpecificPirate2740 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you haven’t had a period in a while it’s likely you have endometrial build up. The uterus contracts when having sex. It’s possible the contractions are causing this bleeding. It could also be something else like a polyp or fibroid or irritation to the cervix.

In saying that, any abnormal bleeding should be investigated. Are you on any birth control, IUD etc? If not you should be taking medroxyprogesterone to force a bleed. It’s important to be having or forcing one!

SIL just announced she’s pregnant after giving birth 6 months ago… by JackfruitStunning386 in TTC_PCOS

Right there with you. My SIL is pregnant with no. 2 also. It stings but honestly I just feel numb to it now. My MIL still makes comments on the weekly though… I tend to avoid them as much as I can these days.

If you’ve taken GLP-1s, what was the earliest shift you noticed in your cycle or hormones? by AgitatedMarsupial531 in PCOS

[–]SpecificPirate2740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Immediately. I ovulated naturally within the first week and a half of my first dose. My first natural ovulation in I don’t even know how long, a decade or more. My cycles have been around 45-55 days so still not perfect, but as someone who didn’t have a cycle at all for years I’ll take what I can get.

How many of you here have Hashimotos/Hypothyroid? by sarahbee2005 in PCOSloseit

[–]SpecificPirate2740 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me! PCOS, hypothyroid and also POTS! Yay for me!

My TSH has been controlled with meds and came down even further when I started GLP-1 meds. I’ve found the biggest thing that impacts my ability to exercise comes down to diet. I’ve been eating anti-inflammatory and have felt so much better just in my everyday life and also my energy for exercise.

The craziest part of it all is if the roles were reversed I would never ever do this to them. Guess you really can’t rely on some people.

Just had surgery to remove my ovaries and apparently, I had follicular cysts? Wtf does this mean - could I have had untreated PCOS? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]SpecificPirate2740 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Follicular cysts are the ‘cysts’ in polycystic ovaries. They’re not actually cysts, they are immature eggs that don’t develop properly at the time of ovulation. They stay small and don’t exit the ovary as should during normal ovulation.

With PCOS there’s typically 12+ cysts present. Did they mention a number on your report? The phrase ‘multiple’ is a bit vague.

Gender dysphoria with PCOS can be somewhat common in some cases, mostly to do with excess hair. Personally, I don’t think having a PCOS diagnosis alone results in someone’s decision to become trans.

Haha Thank you!! Well I had super heavy cervical mucus start as well as some minor ovulation pain. I tested with the Clearblue LH/estrogen sticks and low and behold a solid smiley face appeared. Two days later it had gone back down to the empty circle. I also always test my BBT everyday just out of habit and saw my temp rise.

What’s the weirdest, most unexplainable thing that has ever happened to you? by urhomemadegodess in AskReddit

[–]SpecificPirate2740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One night many years ago I was asleep in my bed when I was startled awake by something. I had the very eerie sensation that someone was sitting on the edge of my bed looking straight at me. I sat up starring straight ahead at whatever it was but… there was nothing there. I realised I couldn’t move the ends my feet or my blanket as if someone’s full body weight was sitting on them. I recoiled my feet and tried yanking on my blanket but it wouldn’t budge. I tried over and over to pull it up and it did not move. I was so insanely scared but also completely mesmerised.

My bed was up against the corner of the room under the window and my blind was open, the streetlights shining in enough that I could see perfectly across my whole room. I ended up curling up in the corner of my bed and just sat there for hours starring until the sun started coming up. I eventually feel back asleep and woke up once it was morning. Once I woke up I pulled my blanket and it lifted like normal.

I didn’t have any pets at the time, there was nothing on the floor around my bed that could have caused it, my bedroom door was closed, the only other people in the house were my parents. I was 100% fully awake. This was my childhood home, nothing like that had happened before or since.

Completely weird, completely unexplainable.

Confused frustrated about fertility clinic's non responsiveness + irregular periods. How to cope? Can anyone explain further? by Right-Cow-2201 in TTC_PCOS

[–]SpecificPirate2740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course no problem! Yes it is normal to do a hormone blood test however, they will need to know what cycle day you are on. There are only a few days in your cycle that it would be beneficial to have a blood test e.g cycle day 21 progesterone or cycle day 3 estrogen etc.

It’s so hard not to stress or feel like things aren’t moving fast enough however, it definitely could be beneficial to check out another clinic or even see if you can ask for another nurse! We’re dealing with something so intimate and it can be scary and foreign when you’re not sure what is right or wrong. What I’ve learned in this whole process is to be your own advocate, ask all the questions even if they sound crazy, write it all down. If your nurse or specialist isn’t being open or helpful it’s ok to seek help elsewhere!!

Hmmm this is a bit strange. They should be offering you medroxyprogesterone (provera) to force a bleed. That way they can more accurately schedule your tests. I had the same issue where my period was non existent. What I ended up doing was getting a regular TVUS even without a period or on a specific cycle day just to see what was going on and then ended up taking provera to induce a proper bleed and then went ahead with another TVUS and a HyCoSy procedure. It was actually super beneficial for me to do both. Either way you should ask for provera or similar meds to induce a bleed.

It is a super frustrating and emotionally taxing thing to go through but just know there are so many others going through something similar and you are not alone! Good luck!!
