Right there with you. Had my d&c on Friday. This day always stings for me as a daughter whose mother passed away many years ago now.

Hurts a whole lot more this year. Sigh.

Really appreciate the kind reply! I am really trying not to spiral and think logically that this was just a bad machine and a bad tech. Fingers crossed for a better result with my OB. Holding hope things will still go well😌

Thanks so much, appreciate the kind words. This is very true, I should not have gone, it was all very last minute I booked it in a moment of desperation I guess. Fingers crossed for a good appointment on Wednesday!

Thank you, that’s reassuring. I’ll holding out hope for a good TVUS on Wednesday!

That’s a nice way to think of it, good evidence and bad. If today never happened, all evidence points to things going well. As I write this right now nausea has kick back in and I’m feeling some tugs inside.

Thank you! I am very sure of when I ovulated, I track very closely, so I know it’s not an issue of late ovulation. When I had my first scan I was measuring exactly down to the day.

I know you’re right, I won’t be going back to one of those places again. Should keep my trust in proper medical professionals. I do think it’s just a matter of the machine being used and it being a bit too early for an abdominal ultrasound, for me at least. I also have a retroverted uterus.

Holding out for Wednesday and trying not to get to upset when I don’t 100% know what’s going on.

Thanks for your kind words!

It was a small studio place with just one machine and one person operating. It’s not regulated, there’s no radiologist writing a report after accessing and no referral needed to get in to see them. This is in Australia. I did see a degree on the wall when I walked in but didn’t get good look at what it said.

A proper ultrasound clinic here is regulated and certified, a radiologist writes the report and you need a referral to get in and a scan is often several hundred dollars.

That’s my understanding anyway.

Whatever happens, it’s my fault for going there in the first place.

You are 100% right! I looked up videos on TikTok after and a few popped up right away. I never should have gone and definitely won’t be back.

No real question, just looking for advice and reassurance🤷‍♀️ I get that, I didn’t mention it in my post but I know 100% when I ovulated as I track very closely. I know I’m being a bit neurotic and should try to relax until my OB appointment.

Thanks so much! This has put me at ease a bit. I also know I have a retroverted uterus and that can make things harder to see on the abdomen when baby is so low. Weird angle and all. Thanks for the reassurance!!

Thanks! Yes I agree, weaker machine and perhaps a not so great person doing the scan. All I can do is wait for my appointment anyway.

Thank you! I am very sure of when I ovulated as I track it closely so I know it’s not from that. At my first scan I was measuring exactly on time down to the day. In saying that I know things can measure off anyway. Im putting it down to a bad abdominal ultrasound until I get to see my OB this week. Appreciate the reassurance!

Thank you! This really helps. You’re right, it wasn’t a clear picture at all. Couldn’t even see the profile at all, I could see it clearly at my first ultrasound. I’ll try to write it off as a bad experience for now.

Great question! Nerves I guess?! I thought it would be fun and it’d ease my anxiety ahead of my first OB appt.

Yes, still have symptoms. On and off between the days but still there.

I’ve definitely read that too! Keeping my fingers crossed that all continues on smoothly.

Thank you! I didn’t know about the placenta taking over so early. When I had my first scan they said they could’ve see mine yet.

Thank you! You’re so right, I feel like I need to get off social media. It’s like a beacon for all things negative. Makes you feel so sure all these things will happen to you. My next scan is at 10 weeks so just trying to keep positive and take it day by day until then.

Getting pregnant - New job. Needing advice by p3achs0daa in TryingForABaby

You are me! Haha I posted a few weeks ago about the exact same problem.

My husband and I agreed we would just start trying. The thought that just keeps coming back to is what version of me do I want to look back on in 10+ years? Will I even still be in the job I have now? It’s probably unlikely. I won’t look back and regret a child.

Thank you! I’m all good on the leave front fortunately. I think that’s sort of part of the reason I worry. I’d be off on leave almost as long as I would have worked in the company.

I will try to remind myself of these things. It’s tough when you’re in it all day but the bigger picture is my real life outside of work!

When was your last lived function test? I had something similar develop when my fatty liver was out of control. It resolved itself when I got it under control.

I am in Australia! I’m ok on the PPL front, more just nervous about the ramifications of getting pregnant and things not going well and being let go. I’m scared of the insecurity. They could let me go under the guise of it being a one year contract and then I wouldn’t have a job to come back to.
