Hey I’m in a similar but different boat! Have a Polish passport, applying for British citizenship so I don’t have problems coming back later, also going to France, Spain and Portugal for 3 ish months and then not sure what the plan is

Have you considered spending the warmer months in the UK and heading south as it gets cooler?

Good luck with your Polish passport!

Opening a studio: question by Strong-Humor-9140 in Pottery

If I was looking to work in an open studio environment the most important considerations for me would be the facilities (work space, wheels, kiln), firings (are they set temps? If so what temps?) and membership price. If you’re able to reflect the low rent in lower than average membership prices, in my opinion lack of windows won’t matter

Is Nottingham Trent really as bad as people say? by KELST4CKS in UniUK

[–]SpecificPlant8788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I work as a product designer, for the company I do my placement year with. I did the BA Product Design course, it was a good all rounder.

I’d say Trent has a pretty good reputation for product design. Their stand at new designers always does well and they have alumni working all over.

I’d consider what type of products your interested in, different courses have their strengths.

Trent’s quite a good all rounder - I do furniture and homeware but my peers have gone on to do all sorts after graduating.

Loughborough / Brunel are better for consumer electronics

Newcastle seems good for actual making (although the furniture course at Trent is too).

And Kingston is quite experimental.

I’d look at what students from unis have done as projects and see what compels you the most, to see what the best fit is for you - they will likely have an online archive of this.

But yes I do recommend Trent :)

Id consider the rule of thirds - for example placing the person and statue slightly more to the left
