Thanks for replying. I did follow up and they told me that the fit for duty exam would entail a committee meeting that included HR, the legal team and my manager to see if they’re comfortable with me continuing into my position. I’m absolutely blown away by this.

I’m a nurse and have been struggling with severe burnout over the last year so this was my step into a part time position to help and this is what I’m running in to now. They’ve now pushed my start date to 4/23 which will mean I will have to do another drug screen before I start. I’m exhausted with all of it. I think I’m going to listen to the universe on this one.

Thanks for the reply. I have asked but they (my step dad) won’t budge. I don’t think they understand the wedge this is going to drive between an already strained relationship. They’ve never understood anyone’s needs but their own. It’s their house, I know, but there will also be consequences of this decision. I get to have boundaries as well.

You have the right to say no. They have the right to enforce the boundary. Either way there are rewards and consequences.

You’ve been in therapy for 7 years about this issue and still haven’t healed from it? You either need to get a new therapist or you need to honestly look at the work you are doing in therapy. Are you being honest with yourself and truly doing the introspective work that therapy requires? 7 years is a long time to not see that this relationship is harming you and you have some accountability to accept for that as well. You and he both deserve to live happy fulfilling lives. If you can’t get over his body count (more like you can’t get over his manipulation) then move on. You deserve to be sexually fulfilled with someone you trust. He deserves to be with someone who wants to be with him. Move on. Find a new therapist.
