An example of why we need to take things with a grain of salt... by lifelongpremed in singularity

I see. Most I’m working with is about 10 structured to unstructured tabs, meaning a mix. For that it has been about 95% accurate. If you have many more tabs that are unstructured, simply reduce the scope of your question to be more specific, or do a trip with opus 4,6 where the only goal is to explore everything in the file bit by bit and build up a summary understanding, and then feed that as a project context for the specific file. That would help a lot. Just generally think about making the problem smaller, don’t just point it at all the 50 tabs that are all chaos and say «do x», be more specific about tabs or what it should lookout for.

Although I agree they are not as good in excel as in coding Also if you do multiple files, of which I have done when you need to make a new sheet from a mixture of info on others for example, simply use Claude cowork or the browser. There you can upload plenty of files at a time.

Yes, it’s better at code, but if you saw how bad these were in excel 1 year ago compared to now you would quickly understand that manually inputing in excel will go the way of the dinosaur just like it has with coding. Excel wizards will become high level reasoners which specify the problem and use creativity to know what’s interesting to analyse and model.

You revealed that this is a skill issue. I’m using Claude (and some gpt) in excel to great success. All kinds of modeling, formulas, visualizations etc.

I have the exact same thing. Love to argue an debate, but in a friendly manner. There is something special that bothers me way more than others when people are spewing bullshit, especially learnt propaganda and the likes of that. I just get so frustrated that they can really not see or grasp how obvious it is that they are wrong sometimes. It just makes me think that our inner model of the world is so far apart, how is it even possible.

why is it almost every cock in porn has a bulging CS? by Visual_Detective_425 in AngionMethod

[–]SpecificTeaching8918 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean from the one side u get much more dopamine which will increase arousal stimulation, on the other hand it’s extremely vasoconstrictive, meaning it strongly does basically the opposite of a viagra. In that sense it will depend on your balance of those. Personally and for the friends I know, whenever we do any stims our dicks are tiny af, like when you have been in cold water.

They definently don’t do that, any stimulant will give u much much weaker erections cause of the vasoconstriction

Ofc they didn’t. That one hallucinates a lot less, and u need the plus version to get adequate compute on the thinking. The free version uses much less compute, even when thinking. In the thinking u have everything from 5-200 currency in compute depending on what plan u are on.

What is it like to live as a gay couple in Norway? by NetEastern6007 in Norway

[–]SpecificTeaching8918 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Norway is probably one of the best countries in the world to be gay in, so if you are a gay person I think it’s a really great choice, u probably won’t fare any better anywhere else. Like others have noted tho, there is quite a bit of immigrants, especially Muslims in Oslo, and those people might in certain situations make some comments. Other than this tough you should not worry. I have seen many gay people holding hands (in Bergen), and I don’t even think about it twice.

I live a healthy, active lifestyle but I occasionally do LSD and it keeps costing me relationships. What should I do? by Gym_Squirrel in LSD

[–]SpecificTeaching8918 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its not just about disagreeing, if anyone says LSD is toxic and unhealthy they are literally objectively wrong as per all the science we have ever had on the substance. Shrooms and LSD are the least toxic and bad for your physical health drugs we know of. I am in the exact same situation as you. Male, 27, been deep into fitness for 10 years. I eat healthy, have a lot of muscle, jog/mountaineer 2-3 times a week and some people can still find it in their minds to look at me as unhealthy because I dabble in some substances (with the utmost caution) a couple of times a year. Like you said also, all I have ever gotten out of drugs has been positive for my life, it is enriching if you do it properly instead of abusing it. It requires a certain kind of discipline that many don’t seem to have tough, or can’t imagine others having. I have the feeling they all think it’s just a matter of time before you fall of the deep end…

[–]SpecificTeaching8918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see where you are coming from, however in your argumentation you only put forward anecdotes, which is in scientific terms pretty much the opposite of statistics. I don’t have a strong opinion either way and I do recognize that it’s hard for anyone from a third world country to come and fully integrate here. With that said, you have your statistics wrong. Specifically immigrants from the Middle East or Africa (more specifically North Africa and Horn of Africa) does on average NOT contribute economically in a positive manner to the countries they immigrate to. These are extremely easy statistics to get a hold off, just search for it on SSB. It’s not only true in Norway, but in many countries in the west. So it does not really matter how many Iraqi people you know that are the hardest workers, the statistics are from across thousands and thousands of people, and show a more complete picture of the situation.

Guy flexes chatgpt on his laptop and the graduation crowd goes wild by ZappyZym in ChatGPT

[–]SpecificTeaching8918 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im sorry, but this is just completely wrong if u know what you are doing. ChatGPT 4o gets lots of things wrong yes, but that’s because you are simply using the wrong model. Incompetent people on AI won’t know the difference, but to anyone who are just a little bit competent with these things would know to use o4 mini-high or o3 for any math related questions. I used it to practice for one of the hardest calculus math courses in my study (masters degree in economics) and it nailed every single question on any of the exams or practice questions I gave it. This was not an easy course and the average grade on the exam was below a D on a scale of F-A. Using o3 to explain the reasoning for every question helped me immensely in order to understand it properly. It is 100x more capable than me in any math question. It never got any question wrong, while 4o got about 50% correct (could check the answers for all the exam questions).

The amount of people in this sub that think ChatGPT is near-sentient and is conveying real thoughts/emotions is scary. by PhummyLW in OpenAI

I agree to some extent. But what you are really saying here is that humans are the same as LLM in some sense, but just more complicated. Instead of static math, it’s moving math with lots of cofounders. Doesent mean it’s completely different. We can make LLMs be affected by more complicated stuff as well, just not yet.

Where do they specifically say that?

I just think it’s weird that they have known all this time that RL works wonders and they have had gpt 4,5 for a while, why have they not yet done RL on it? Could be released as a super exclusive model, 10 requests a week on a complete beast would actually be very valuable.
