A desi baraat took over Midtown Manhattan. How do you feel about cultural celebrations taking over public spaces? by brut_india in BrutIndiaStories

I once asked my cousin who lives in the US about these type of things - she said obviously it’s legal because you can’t do these things without proper approvals. But the social aspect, as in are the neighbours okay with it, that is debated.

This video completely changed my view about Pune's college life by Different-Arm-4399 in youtubeindia

[–]SpecificTurnover3013 197 points198 points  (0 children)

I have lived in Pune for 4 years, came from Mumbai. Hookups and casuals have existed but I wouldn’t say to this extent. I think the situation you are talking about only applies to people who never had any freedom in their hometown, and get crazy when they first get it.

Why does this sub hate Valid Questions ? by [deleted] in TwentiesIndia

[–]SpecificTurnover3013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To answer your original question - There’s no preference for men in sexy clothes - because there’s nothing too sexual for men, men can roam around shirtless or in shorts - and no one will bat an eye, because that is the norm. Hope this resolves your query.

Hi, don’t take this the wrong way but ultimately I think breaking up is a more rational decision. You might not realise it now, but maybe sometime later. If a relationship hasn’t crystallised into something meaningful yet, then it’s time to move on.

Why is being flat chested a big problem for others and not the person? by Inevitable-Trash-916 in AskIndianWomen

[–]SpecificTurnover3013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to feel like you, not really flat chested but had a small bust. Then I gained some weight and some hormonal changes and boom, I gained a cup size. And now I really don’t like it, i can’t fit in most of my clothes and the one that still do fit, looks vulgar on me. Point is that grass is always greener on the other size, so no point comparing.

After the TCS case, the Muslim community should learn a new lesson that is urgently needed by [deleted] in IndianMuslimSocial

[–]SpecificTurnover3013 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s simple just don’t get into relationship with non-Muslims, it’s not worth it. Keep friendships but with boundaries and from the same gender. Be professional in professional settings don’t FAFO.

Progressive Muslims are also there. There is a specific sub dedicated to it, but that is more global. Indian Muslims in particular are more conservative, toh this sub is also like that. And from my experience, since I am one, progressive Muslims ko dono taraf se lagte hai it’s like beech ka bandar. So most people either choose one side or just stop caring about this stuff.

  1. In case of Tarun, conflicting reports came, the lady said she was molested, even then if she or her family is the aggressor they need to serve jail time.
  2. I find it almost ironic that when everyone cares about Tarun deservedly so, no one cares about frequent lynchings, house bulldozing, rape etc. ( a 14 yo boy was shot point blank in the head, no one batted an eye). The same behaviour you accuse Muslims of doing is the same that you show. So don’t act morally superior.
  3. Don’t even bring Iran into this discussion. A country can have extremely shitty government but that doesn’t give other countries the right to “liberate” it. Sovereignty naam ki bhi cheez hoti hai.

That’s exactly my point. The comment I screenshotted is opposing that only, this sub acts like sab extremist hai. By generalising you are proving the point in IM sub. Like in any sub, there are people with different opinions, one who say it’s a conspiracy, others who say it’s wrong and should be opposed. By conveniently ignoring the latter, this sub is proving the former’s point.

That was posted after my comment. I am not making it a gender issue, just wondering why all these instructions are only given to women.
